From July 2012 to June 2013 (1 year) Business Development Manager @ Managed a multi-functional team to build a new retail business ( to leverage Wolfson's class-leading ambient noise cancelling technologies and drive revenues for the business. Full responsibility for new products, new channels, revenue and profitability. Led the integration of Sonaptic’s software and IP into Wolfson’s hardware portfolio, driving the hardware Product Managers to create compelling integrated roadmaps. Led the roll out to customers alongside the in-country sales teams. Created and implemented new Product Development Process for headphone business, with metric-driven milestone reviews and aligned with our Chinese sub-contract manufacturer process Negotiated and managed complex manufacturing agreement with Chinese sub-contract partner. Developed multi-year solution roadmaps integrating Wolfson chip, IP and software capabilities with full value propositions. From 2008 to July 2012 (4 years) Head of Marketing and Product Management @ Reporting to the CEO, I headed up global product management and marketing for VC funded software start-up developing world-leading audio and ambient noise cancellation technologies. Led refocusing of the business to be more product / customer led and less engineering driven. Implemented new Product Development Process alongside a new sales opportunity ranking and prioritisation processes to improve customer focus, revenues and on time delivery. Developed software roadmaps and customer value propositions, presented to target customers worldwide to drive revenues. Consulted with key customers to create and present bespoke software propositions. Controlled $450k marketing budget, recruited and managed PR and creative agencies for collateral development, new web site and trade shows Supported Series B fundraising through prospectus development and targeted PR activity, constructed and presented the pitch to potential investors Deeply involved in due diligence process for acquisition by Wolfson (Sonaptic was sold for $42m, 10x the existing revenue stream), managed post-acquisition customer communications and successfully integrated the Sonaptic sales and marketing team into the Wolfson structure. From April 2006 to August 2007 (1 year 5 months) Senior Marketing Manager @ P&L responsibility for the mobile phone headset segment ($31m revenues), from strategy development through to tactical implementation across EMEA. Managed portfolio and product life cycle planning, new product positioning and launches. Ran pan-EMEA marketing campaigns with annual budgets exceeding $2m. Managed team of product managers and marketers. From October 2003 to April 2006 (2 years 7 months) Senior Product Manager, Mobile Consumer Products @ Responsible for all retail products in EMEA, with full retail product management and B2B and B2C product marketing disciplines, including portfolio planning, new product development, product launches, life cycle management and channel strategy. Acted as spokesman for wireless technologies (Bluetooth / WiFi / DECT), and Member of Bluetooth SIG Marketing Committee. Launched first Bluetooth headset for Plantronics and complete new range of gaming headsets to drive increased revenues. Developed own-brand customer propositions and product roadmaps for key mobile operators (Vodafone, Orange, etc) and increased branded revenues significantly. Worked with US HQ to develop EMEA-centric product roadmap and ensure EMEA market needs were captured early and consistently in product development processes. From August 2000 to October 2003 (3 years 3 months) Global Product Manager @ Global P&L responsibility for range of industrial and retail power tools. Ran Business Unit of 40+ shop floor and R&D for three month period. Streamlined portfolio and improved profitability on core product range and aftermarket sales. From February 1999 to August 2000 (1 year 7 months) Marketing & Business Planning Manager, Asia Pacific @ Key focus was on new manufacturing Joint Venture in Tianjin, China. Extended distribution network in Asia to drive significant improvement in customer service levels and revenues.
