Spring 2015 lab enrollment: 21 From August 2013 to May 2015 (1 year 10 months) Graduate Research Assistant @ From August 2009 to May 2015 (5 years 10 months) Research Intern @ From May 2013 to August 2013 (4 months) Greater Los Angeles AreaResearch Intern @ I worked on a project called Haptics And Medical Simulation (HAMS) where we investigated the potential use of a haptic device to help train laparoscopic surgery.
I was responsible for a thorough literature review and writing reports for the funding agency. Additionally, I developed preliminary prototypes using the haptic device. From 2011 to 2011 (less than a year) REU Student @ Completed two Computer Science REUs and one Cognitive Science REU under the direction of Dr. Larry F. Hodges. Implemented two virtual character systems, ran usability studies, and presented results. Also participated in the STARS Alliance for leadership and diversity in computing. Through STARS, I developed material for teaching Girl Scouts about Internet Safety and participated in other computing outreach events. From May 2006 to May 2009 (3 years 1 month) REU Student @ Completed a REU opportunity with Dr. Scott McCrickard. Implemented a storyboarding system for use in HCI product design, ran a usability study, and presented results. From May 2008 to July 2008 (3 months)
