Jerry has over 30 years of diverse experience in the energy industry including engineering, marketing, management, research, consulting, and business development. The focus of his career has been natural gas midstream with additional experience in liquids including NGL, crude oil, and condensate. Jerry’s facility experience includes natural gas processing plants, compressor stations, pipelines, and metering. He is currently Chairman of Technical Section A - Facilities Design & Optimization of the Gas Processors Association (www.gpaglobal.org/committees/technical/).
Consultant @ From August 2015 to Present (5 months) Engineering Manager @ From the Arctic to the Canadian oil sands and the US shale plays, our Oil & Gas team partners with clients to provide engineering, procurement, construction management (EPCM), permitting, survey, and environmental services across the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and
gas industry. We design facilities, pipelines, terminals, and refineries as well as critical infrastructure like processing plants and field facilities. Through our partnerships, industry experience, and use of technology, we develop new and inventive ways to solve emerging issues, meet regulations, and increase productivity. From November 2014 to August 2015 (10 months) Dallas/Fort Worth AreaConsultant @ Baker & O'Brien's specific areas of practice focus primarily on the downstream energy industry, including petroleum refining and products marketing; crude oil supply and logistics; natural gas processing, transportation and marketing; basic chemical and petrochemical manufacturing; pulp and paper; electric power generation; and business integration and reorganization. From 2012 to 2014 (2 years) VP Engineering @ Provided engineering consulting services to the energy industry for design and engineering of natural gas, natural gas liquid, crude oil, and refined product facilities including gathering, compression, pump stations, pipelines, tankage, and processing. Responsible for cost estimating for domestic and international facility and pipeline construction projects. Managed 34 client accounts, some of which represented multiple projects. Provided the design, engineering, and procurement of seven simultaneous Eagle Ford Shale Central Delivery Points and pipeline gathering system representing in excess of $100 million in capital cost. Established an engineering office and grew the staff to 30 personnel include engineers, engineering technicians, purchasing, drafting, and administration. From 2005 to 2012 (7 years) VP Engineering @ Directed gas treating and gas processing projects from idea stage through completion including formal quotation, client approval, engineering drawings, construction, commissioning, start-up, operations, and troubleshooting. Prepared detailed quotations complete with engineering, process simulation, equipment selection, chemical design, and operating costs, resulting in fifteen projects which included engineering consulting, equipment sales, and equipment leases, resulting in excess of $2.0 million in annual revenue. Managed gas treating and gas processing equipment sales and leasing including amine plants (3.5 to 200 gallons per minute), gas processing plants, gas dehydration units, and power generators to oil and gas production companies. Provided engineering support for business development including process design, process simulation, cost estimating, and procurement. From 2001 to 2004 (3 years) Business Development Manager @ Managed leasing of gas treating equipment to oil and gas production companies including straight equipment lease, equipment lease with operations, and operations only. Gas treating equipment proposals included amine plants (10 gallons per minute to 250 gallons per minute), gas processing plants, compression, dehydration, generators, well operation, and water treatment. Coordinated amine plant leasing with gas purchase offers and pipeline financing. Directed client prospecting including review of drilling reports, contacting including letters and cold calls, sales calls, convention exhibits, industry association presentations, customized project definition, project economics, offer letters, contract preparation, and contract execution. Administered customer follow-up including project timeline, client information requests, company personnel contact information for new clients, project kick-off meetings, equipment transportation, plant construction and start-up coordination, plant utilities, plant filing system, and problem resolution. From 2000 to 2001 (1 year) Principal Engineer, Gas-to-Liquids Technology @ Converted ARCO’s concept of a gas-to-liquids process first to paper then to an operating pilot plant in 18 months with minimal staff. Engineered highly successful 1½-year operation of pilot plant, completing all research objectives and exceeding performance expectations. Performed process design, start-up, and operation, including process formulation and equipment specifications. From 1997 to 2000 (3 years) Natural Gas Midstream Engineering and Gas Marketing @ Managed the installation and expansion of five gas processing plants/treating facilities and conducted an economic analysis of capital projects for natural gas processing and coordinated gas gathering pipeline construction. Became the Professional Gas Marketing Representative for marketed gas produced from the Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico, West Texas, Rocky Mountains, and Michigan areas, including securing the connection of new wells to pipelines (onshore and offshore) and negotiated gas sales to pipeline companies and gas processing plants. Then became the Manager, Gas Supply and Transportation. Managed five professionals, contract analysts, and administrative personnel in the areas of gas gathering, treating, processing, purchase, transportation, and contract administration. Supervised gas transportation for 180 million cubic feet per day, including 200 contracts, 92 pipelines, and $1 million per month transportation expense, including the conversion to FERC Order 636 transportation contracts. Directed the contract negotiations and administration of gas sales contracts for 70 billion cubic feet of natural gas sales ($123 million per year.) From 1980 to 1994 (14 years)
