Graduate Fellow @ UCLA Mathematics Department
Education:
M.A. @
University of California, Los Angeles
About:
I used to do numerical analysis research. Those days seem so long ago. Now I do software engineering, mostly designing scalable systems to manipulate a bunch of 0s and 1s.
Senior Software Engineer @ I work in Brand Advertising doing back-end development. I use mostly Java (!), with some R, Python, Go, C++, and various Google-specific technologies mixed

[Side note: "Add a link" does not seem to work on linkedin...ironically (?)] From December 2012 to Present (3 years 1 month) Postdoctoral Appointee @ Integrated a new efficient mesh duplication algorithm into SIERRA's XFEM framework to enable crack branching and merging. Conducted preliminary work in SSE/AVX vectorization of computationally intensive code paths within SIERRA. From August 2012 to November 2012 (4 months) Graduate Fellow @ Led discussion sections twice a week to review lecture, tutored at the Student Math Center, prepared review sessions before exams, and held office hours to provide students with additional help.
Courses:
- Math 32A (Multivariable Calculus)
- Math 32B (Multivariable Calculus)
- Math 33A (Linear Algebra)
- Math 33B (Differential Equations)
- Math 132 (Complex Analysis for Applications)
- Math 151A (Numerical Analysis)

- PIC 60 (Data Structures and Algorithms) From September 2005 to June 2012 (6 years 10 months) Teaching Assistant @ Assisted Professor Joseph Teran's week-long workshop on nonlinear elasticity. From July 2010 to July 2010 (1 month) Teacher @ Introduced 9th graders to statistics. From September 2009 to March 2010 (7 months) Graduate Associate @ Created a Maya plugin front-end and developed the back-end algorithms to volumetrically fracture non-volumetric (i.e., quad surface) animation models. From June 2008 to September 2008 (4 months) Professional Non-Exempt Member of the Technical Staff Level 1 @ Supported various programming projects relating to SOAP
(Satellite Orbit Analysis Program) and SRE (Software Reliability Engineering). Created and modified existing code in C, C++, and Perl. Used Qt 4 to develop cross-platform graphical user interfaces in C++. Designed and prototyped mathematical algorithms to solve problems. From May 2005 to September 2007 (2 years 5 months) Private Tutor @ Tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, including high school mathematics, SAT Math preparation, and AP Chemistry. From March 2006 to January 2007 (11 months) Clinic Project Manager @ Headed a team of four HMC students to deliver to HP Labs several tools written in Matlab(R) to analyze and correct printer drift, as well as mid-year and final reports detailing our approaches. Presented our findings at Harvey Mudd College and directly to Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. From August 2004 to May 2005 (10 months) Academic Excellence Mathematics Learning Facilitator @ Tutored students in linear algebra, differential equations, multivariable calculus, discrete mathematics; conducted workshops and exam review sessions. From January 2003 to May 2005 (2 years 5 months) Computer Science 60 Grader/Tutor @ Graded course assignments; tutored students on the principles of computer science. From January 2002 to May 2005 (3 years 5 months) Summer Intern @ Constructed several test scripts to automate the execution, collection, and compilation of tests and their results, with the aim of optimizing the BroadcastID infrastructure. Wrote several technical summaries analyzing said results and recommending potential efficiency improvements. From May 2004 to August 2004 (4 months) Summer Research Student @ Programmed and used several programs in Matlab(R) (totaling approximately 20,000 lines of code) to solve reaction-diffusion partial differential equations on growing 2-dimensional surfaces. Implemented and studied several different numerical integration schemes to solve these systems of PDEs. From May 2003 to August 2003 (4 months)
