Journal of Biological Rhythms 28:79-89. http://jbr.sagepub.com/content/28/1/79.abstract From August 2010 to December 2013 (3 years 5 months) Founder and Development Chief @ CrimsonEMS is Harvard's BLS Emergency Medical Service which provides a heavily subsidized EMT-B training course and is moving toward operating a 24/7 BLS ambulance to serve the campus and surrounding community. As Development Chief, I organized all matters regarding the training of new EMT-Bs including class room instruction, preparation for state certification, and maintenance of licensing. From April 2012 to May 2013 (1 year 2 months) Summer Intern @ Worked to increase connections between medically under-served Chicago residents and medical care: Researched strategies to improve emergency room efficiency and reduce non emergent visits by providing attractive, alternative sources of care. Designed and implemented modifications to existing programs to increase their efficiency. Conducted an extensive literature review to support program decisions. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Emergecy Medical Technician @ Worked on an Advanced Life Support Ambulance responding to 9-1-1 calls from the ill and injured. Provided life-saving early intervention and transport to local hospitals. From January 2009 to June 2011 (2 years 6 months) Research Assistant @ Multidisciplinary Infectious Disease Research involving molecular genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology. Investigated the mechanism by which the bacterial pathogen, Shigella flexneri, manipulates host cells to promote infection and cause dysentery disease.
