I enjoy bringing people, software and processes together to solve complex problems for capital allocators like Endowments, Foundations and Family Offices. Solovis is a revolutionary multi-asset class analytics, portfolio management and reporting platform designed for Foundations, Endowments and similar institutional investors. The platform allows investment managers to integrate the back to front office with unique visualizations and data supplementation capabilities that keep investors up to date with the most recent information available.
Senior Vice President @ At Solovis I'm building out teams and systems to help us grow and solve client problems.
My teams include an account management team staffed with Client Solutions Managers who help our post-implementation clients with strategy, learning new features and user groups. I'm also building out a Support organization and Product Management.
Internally I focus on strategic projects and operations including hiring, payroll, pipeline management and compliance. I'm implementing processes and systems to help us manage our growth, communicate internally and delight our clients.
To help us grow, I use my network to meet new prospects, participate in industry events and spread the word about Solovis. From April 2015 to Present (7 months) Greater Chicago AreaChief Operating Officer @ At Pathfinder I managed post-sale activities including engineering and consulting. The CTO, Director of Engineering, Director of Project Management and Director of UI/UX reported to me. Together we developed SaaS and on premise solutions for healthcare clients in an Agile environment. Most projects included mobile (Android and iOS) apps.
StratAlign Group was a Lean Innovation consulting practice that spun out of Pathfinder in September 2014. We helped corporate and non-profit companies develop new product ideas and market them. From November 2013 to March 2015 (1 year 5 months) Greater Chicago AreaManaging Director @ At Backstop I was a member of the executive leadership team with the CEO and CTO. I ran company-wide strategic projects and the Professional Services Group (PSG.) We had around 100 employees located in the US and UK helping 600 clients manage hedge fund investors or portfolios of alternative investments on our SaaS platform.
PSG provides implementation and custom application extension (billable software development) services to our clients. I organized the team, developed metrics, scorecards, management reporting and processes for estimating work and managing projects. Over the last five years margin grew by 20%, the practice grew by 50% and Services sales to existing clients grew to 51% of total Services revenue. Along the way I grew a strong management team who in turn are growing teams of awesome Project Managers and Engineers.
Soon after I started I created a business plan and strategy for a new vertical; Endowments and Foundations. When I started the project we had one client in this vertical, this grew to around 50 and became the fastest growing segment of the client base. I ran the Endowment and Foundation forum – a networking and advisory interest group and was the primary point of contact for our largest institutional clients.
In early 2013 I led the PerTrac CMS acquisition process including coordinating teams of subject matter experts, on-boarding new employees, opening an office in London and developing the conversion strategy. From September 2008 to November 2013 (5 years 3 months) Greater Chicago AreaDirector - Global Accounts @ At Kronos I partnered with global consulting and outsourcing firms to deliver projects for Global customers. This included selling and delivering services for Kronos’ largest customer, a global manufacturing firm implementing Kronos software on four continents. I managed teams of implementation Project Managers and Consultants, managed a large P&L and was the Executive Sponsor (responsible for Customer Satisfaction) for all accounts.
Since this was a new practice for Kronos, I also wrote the business plan for the practice including 5-year projected P&L, market segmentation plan, staffing plan and partner analysis. From March 2005 to May 2008 (3 years 3 months) Greater Chicago AreaVice President of Consulting Resources @ PeopleSoft hired me as a Consultant in their Education and Government division. Within nine months I moved to managing a practice and then moved to the VP role in the Commercial practice in 2000. In that role I managed a regional consulting organization with a $75M P&L consisting of 250 consultants and six service lines through eleven direct reports. I reduced expenses by 30%, increased utilization by 37%, decreased turnover by 71% and sold consulting services to new and existing clients, (value of projects sold ranged from $100,000 to $3,500,000.)
I was awarded the “Top Talent” designation which aligned company high potential employees with developmental opportunities and enhanced rewards
