Passionate about using computers to solve complex problems, I am addicted to dreaming of new ways to approach these problems. If you read Myers-Briggs Type Indicator jargon, I'm an INTP, constantly looking for opportunities to grow my understanding of the world and the people within it. As such, I am working on my PhD in Computer Science: examining methods of understanding how users and systems interact toward optimizing and creating safer human-computer systems.
In addition, I am working with Cisco using my understanding of machine learning techniques and machine learning algorithms to develop scalable probabilistic learning models which detect cyber-security threats. Using machine learning and concepts from natural language processing and signal processing we are able to design products and services which are able to intelligently adapt to and mitigate evolving threats.
I've heavily focused on the theoretical side of problem solving because knowing "why" is just as important to me as knowing "how". For the majority of my career, I've provided consultation services to Fortune 500 companies related to information security and access management working with everything from biometric devices, to mining huge databases filled with juicy data, to writing massive technical documentation about eye-crossing business processes.
I can also claim a breadth of experience that samples from areas such as management, assembly line production, graphic design, and audio-visual creation and production. My track record spans from small consulting companies to large corporations, and my technical expertise similarly spans the entire SDLC.
