Software Engineer III @ INSBU @ From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Member R&D Technical Staff @ From April 2014 to February 2015 (11 months) Software Engineer II @ NXOS for the Nexus series datacentre switches:
- Working on the platform and fabric management components of Cisco Nexus 7000 and 7700 series of high capacity datacenter switches.
- Involved in the design and bringup of the modular switch system and creating a robust end to end packet flow for unicast and multicast switching.
- Maintaining the platform drivers which involves the detection of modules, management of system monitoring hardware and memory management of the persistent storages of the switch.
- Worked on projects in order to enhance the performance and the modularity of the system. From August 2011 to April 2014 (2 years 9 months) Research Assistant @ RNEDE: Resilient Network Design Environment
-Working on methods to design network topologies resilient to node and edge failures.
-Developing strategies for node placements to enable robustness without compromising efficiency.
-Working on methods to implement both supervisory and decentralised control. From October 2010 to August 2011 (11 months) Graduate Assistant @ -Developed a back-end search module to help library administrators selectively provision databases for a front end user search using PHP and Javascript.
-Tested the existing search tool for University Libraries in comparison to the native search tool of each database.
-Integrated the search tools of the University Libraries and the individual databases. From October 2009 to August 2010 (11 months) Course Project @ Delay Analysis of OFDM Systems and comparison with CDMA - The project involved analysis of queuing based model for OFDM systems. We analysed a proposed algorithm to optimise the delay seen by the packets for transmission and gave a modified algorithm for improving the system performance in terms of packed dropping probability. Apart from this the proposed algorithms were also compared with CDMA systems for a voice transmission scenario. We were able to propose an algorithm which had better performance over the algorithm given in the references and CDMA based system for the same set of system parameters. From March 2010 to May 2010 (3 months) B.Tech Final Year Project @ Speech Enhancement by adaptive signal processing:
The project involved development and implementation of adaptive algorithms for speech enhancement using DSK-6713 digital signal processor. Kalman and H-infinity filters were studied and implemented to enable real time enhancement of speech signals corrupted by additive noise. The project was completed as a part of a team of 3 B.Tech. final year students (Akshya Gupta, Ankit Sharma and Piyush Sharma).
(Project under the supervision of Prof. D.K. Mehra, IIT Roorkee.) From August 2008 to May 2009 (10 months) Vacation Scholar @ OFDM for underwater noise cancellation:
The project involved the study and use of the OFDM techniques on audio frequencies to reduce the effects of multi-path echoes on the received signal for applications in short distance underwater communication. It also required the use of non- uniform sampling to obtain frequency and time synchronization. This project was a part of of an internship program (Vacation Scholar Fellowship) awarded for academic e xcellence in the department.
(Project under the supervision of Dr Mark Pickering, UNSW@ADFA, Canberra) From May 2008 to July 2008 (3 months) Summer Intern @ Microcontroller based MC card: The project involved development of a micro-controller based monitor and control(MC) card to enable selection of frequency bands and monitoring of the RF Transceiver. The card was also to send appropriate testing signals to the system for monitoring. A separate functionality was also added to test the card during simulations. This work was done as a part of the team working on unmanned aircraft communications module.
(Project under supervision of Mr R. C. Kargeti and Mr Pinaki Sen) From May 2007 to June 2007 (2 months)
Master of Science, Communications and Networks engineering, 3.88 @ Purdue University From 2009 to 2011 Bachelor of Technology, Electronics and Communications @ Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee From 2005 to 2009 High School, High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates @ Maheshwari Public School From 2003 to 2005 St Josephs School Ratlam Akshya Gupta is skilled in: Algorithms, Signal Processing, Simulations, C++, C, Computer Networking, Switching Systems, Device Drivers, Network Programming, Matlab, Python, Programming, Linux, Testing, Networking, Wireless, Unix, Embedded Systems, Distributed Systems
