For example, out of 619 people who came to the 7 sessions in 2011-12, all anonymous survey responses gave above 90% average satisfaction rate. http://ow.ly/xMNW9 http://ow.ly/oeSZX http://ow.ly/ydi8M http://ow.ly/oeT3F ➢ In 2013 & 2014, invited by Brian Madden to speak at BriForum -- the only Desktop Virtualization conference in the world. http://ow.ly/ydikU ➢ Published in 2 books on vSphere Design, co-authored with Frank Denneman, Duncan Epping, Cormac Hogan & Brad Hedlund. http://ow.ly/A4Sxc http://ow.ly/ydivR ➢ In 2014, awarded vExpert title by VMware, for social contributions to the community. ➢ I have also presented at client events like NJEDge.Net Conf. 8.0 and NJSBA Workshop 2012 on how Virtualization can help educators. http://ow.ly/oeT6C http://ow.ly/oeT9i Overall, I would like to continue researching new ways to manage Virtual Desktops and Virtualization & integrate with the Private, Hybrid & Public clouds.Practice Lead - End-User Computing (EUC) @ Successfully drive End-User Computing (EUC), Desktop Virtualization (VDI) & Mobile Device Management (MDM) strategy. Manage a team of Professional Services and Pre-Sales engineers. Build Pre-Sales design and sizing guides, Post-Sales implementation manuals, develop product bundles, standardize Statements of Work and responses to Requests for Proposal. Assist the Sales force with customer presentations, demos, assessments and analyses. Provide client and internal training. Evangelize about CDI's VDI value proposition at industry events. From February 2013 to Present (2 years 11 months) Principal Architect - Cloud Computing @ Effectively guided Cloud, End-User Computing (EUC) & Virtualization strategy, established standards, promoted best practices and efficient business processes. On the Professional Services side, tracked builds for all 4 disciplines -- Storage, Network, Servers and Virtualization. On the Sales side, assisted the Sales force with customer presentations, demos, assessments and analyses. Provided client and internal training. Responsibilities included 60% Pre-Sales architecture/design and 40% advanced Post-Sales implementations. ➢ Project Examples: • As part of the Public Sector team, presented CDI’s value proposition and strategy to the CIO of one of the most densely populated states in the country. Addressed disaster recovery and staff training concerns. • Efficiently co-wrote the server and virtualization piece of the comprehensive response to a Request for Information (RFI) from a major clothing retail company. Fit into short timeframes, and presented the solution to a detail oriented client. • Thoroughly analyzed an Oracle on VMware performance problem at a major Ivy League University. Compiled a detailed report on the 32 node VMware cluster, and provided specific performance recommendations. Presented the highlights of the report to the client. From February 2013 to August 2014 (1 year 7 months) Manager - Data Center Solutions @ Successfully managed both Pre-Sales Solution Architects and Post-Sales Professional Services teams. Six direct reports. Responsibilities included 50% management and strategy, 25% pre-sales architecture and design, and 25% advanced post-sales implementation. ➢ Developed an effective Reward System for staff -- 100% contribution. The system had 3 goals: • To get Leads flowing to the Sales force. • To get Post-Sales positive or negative feedback from clients about engineering work quality. • To make sure the team follows the latest technical news & generates business ideas. Every month, emails were collected with employees' Ideas, Leads & customer feedback & points were assigned. At the end the month, a team meeting was held with separate Awards for each category. Employee certificates and a monetary prize were given. In 5 months, 6 engineers generated 15 new Sales opportunities, 10 positive client responses & 46 new ideas. In addition, the rewards system fostered team competition & increased morale. ➢ Developed an innovative One-Day-Per-Week system -- similar to Google's 20% time, but replacing personal interests with cross training between Pre-Sales and Post-Sales job roles -- 100% contribution. There was a hiring constraint. As a result, we needed to allocate engineers to the Sales force & also continue quality Professional Services work. To solve the dilemma, 1 day per week Pre-Sales engineers worked in the field, building systems hands-on & keeping design skills current. Consequently, Post-Sales engineers spent 1 day per week doing design, architecture, quoting, & customer visits. ➢ Other projects: • Developed a concise Statement of Work (SOW) Template that became the company standard -- 90% contribution. • Kept track of Professional Services calendar & solved scheduling conflicts -- 50% contribution. • Met with vendors to develop technical Solution Sales strategy -- 60% contribution. From April 2010 to February 2013 (2 years 11 months) Senior Solutions Architect @ Successfully performed diverse projects as a principal IT consultant. Responsibilities included 70% pre-sales architecture and design & 30% post-sales implementation. ➢ Project Examples: • Keansburg Public Schools: Designed & built VMware vSphere Server Infrastructure (VSI) and a 400-800 user VMware View Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on two Cisco UCS 5108 chassis with B200 blades and EMC VNX 5300/5500 series storage arrays. The unique design minimized I/O impact to Virtual Desktops by using VMware vShield with Trend Micro Deep Security. • County of Sussex, NJ: Planned and constructed a 25-500 user VMware View VDI on Dell PowerEdge M1000e Blades. The distinctive design spanned 3 separate Active Directory forests with support for adding more organizations into a private multi-tenant VDI cloud. • Ridgewood Public Schools: Planned and implemented an Exchange 2010 Database Availability Group (DAG) and a Microsoft Network Load Balancing (NLB) cluster. Configured 2 Dell EqualLogic arrays. Then, set up VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for quick DR failover. The novel configuration used a stretched VLAN across both sites to eliminate SRM IP address customization. • Bergen Community College: Designed & built a Cisco UCS 5108 enclosure with two 6120XP Fabric Interconnects and 6 blades. Connected to NetApp FAS6140, Brocade Fibre Channel and Nexus 7000 switches upstream. The sophisticated solution used Updating Templates to achieve minimal configuration for the client. • Hudson County Schools of Technology: Implemented a VMware ESXi cluster that utilized a Cisco Nexus 1000V distributed virtual switch for redundancy & EtherChannel port-channels upstream. • Toms River Regional Schools: Upgraded to the latest Microsoft Hyper-V 2008 R2 high availability cluster. Designed & implemented Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 (SCCM). The innovative SCCM infrastructure allowed the client to manage 4,000 desktops in 18 schools almost without human intervention. From April 2010 to September 2012 (2 years 6 months) Systems Engineer @ Successfully completed numerous projects as a principal IT consultant. Responsibilities included 30% pre-sales architecture & design, 60% post-sales implementation & 10% Proof-of-Concept lab work. ➢ Project Examples: • NJ Department of Transportation: Using VMware Capacity Planner, analyzed client’s servers & built a vSphere cluster. Developed a unique testing environment. The novel approach allowed the client to simulate their intranet & other servers virtually & then test the solution with real users from any point in the customer’s physical network, without impact to production. • Conrail: Using Quest MessageStats, analyzed the client’s Microsoft Exchange 2003 upgrade feasibility. Designed & implemented a two site Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment, running on physical & virtual servers. Exchange design utilized LCR for local & SCR for remote replication. • Proskauer Rose: Implemented a disaster recovery solution between NYC & Philadelphia using HP Continuous Access synchronous replication software, Brocade FCIP routers & HP EVA arrays. When requirements changed, analyzed the customer’s Data Rate of Change & advised on adding HP Storage Mirroring (Doubletake). • Suburban Propane – E-Mail Archiving: Designed & implemented a centralized Symantec Enterprise Vault 8 infrastructure encompassing branch offices in all 50 states. Installed the legal Discovery Accelerator module & presented its functionality to the litigation team. • Suburban Propane – HP Virtual Connect: Designed & built an inventive HP Virtual Connect solution for the client’s HP c-Class 7000 Blade Enclosures. The design overcame the limitations of HP’s Virtual Connect to allow all Ethernet paths in Active/Active Load Balancing mode. • RenCap: Designed & executed a migration of the client’s Symantec Enterprise Vault e-mail archiving data from a Falconstor Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) device in New York to the Data Domain WORM appliance in the London organization.
