The development team is contributing to our Microservice on a daily basis, pushing new code to our production servers day after day: our team members engage in code reviews throught fisheye , discuss best practices for API design and write automated test to get us covered; they get the chance to work with some of the best development platforms out there ( NodeJS / Symfony2 running through Docker) so they always have an extra-push. Builds of our systems run every time someone pushes new code to our CI system and notifies us if there is anything broken: i believe that good software design saves us from regretting decisions in six months, but automated tests save us every time we push new code to our production environment. From the System Administration perspective, i'm working working to implement a world-class service which includes auto-scaling, service discovery and extensive monitoring (with tools such as Graylog2 , Netflix’s Vector , munin). I'm also responsable for the reengineering of our deploy process (Green / Blue , Canary Server) We are also moving towards a more DevOps culture, with tools like Ansible, SaltStack, Docker and CoreOS helping us removing complexity from the systems and giving us more time and less stress to think on how Ops can make a big leap towards Dev.
