My strengths lie in reverse engineering, project management in radio frequency, microwave, cellular, optical fiber, and satellite communication networks spanning land, sea, air and space environments.
Simulation of satellite interference from cellular network builds (NOAA), and the simulation of Navaid (DME/VOR) Field Strength levels CONUS-wide (~1000 locations, five altitudes, 800,000 point files with LAT, LON, Altitude, Field Strength in dB uV per meter) (FAA). I have met the challenge HEAD ON and developed quantitative link budgets and algorithms that estimate worst case field strength across CONUS.
Performed antenna, sub reflector design, factory/site acceptance testing.
Wireless and microwave network design, installation, test and cut-over.
Acceptance tested cables, antennas, ground support systems, satellite payloads and spacecraft.
Designed thermal control system for DNA Bio-Reactor, written into NIH white paper.
Drafted SBIR proposal for remote test of avionics on USAF aircraft.
Built prototype test sets: Impedance-copper in the loop, optical fiber path length, and bend loss in optical fiber tow cable.
Designed, installed, tested and cut-over multiple optical fiber SONET networks.
Managed/designed/built first optical fiber towed array; devised optical fiber path length and bend loss test stations to support successful test at sea.
Drafted white paper on health and status system; wrote launch and deployment chapter in textbook; space elevator.
Wrote an expert system for working cable design (SPICE model) to predict mechanical, electrical, and optical performance.
Designed undersea optical fiber cables, sensors and video links; space shuttle optical and computer experiments.
