Analytics Engineer @ SolarCity ■ Worked on an Analytics platform/framework for Operations to help quantify and visualize performance within the company. Lots of visualizations to look at data . Using Python, Django, Pandas, Numpy, D3, NVD3, dc.js.■ Worked on a data-warehousing project to help improve the Analytics platform: Created a POC introducing a level-2 data aggregation layer in Mysql/Redis to avoid making expensive calls to the primary Mssql database, using Memcached for level-1. Mysql/Redis layer stored aggregated data for most common or most resource expensive reports (basically SQL views), updated periodically by Celery jobs (using Redis broker). Design based on SEDA architecture.■ Created new frontend interactive widgets using Javascript, D3 (Python to drive the backend) for embedding within reports/table-views and provide a richer analytics experience. From June 2014 to December 2014 (7 months) San Mateo, CASoftware Consultant @ Google ■ Worked on network inventory management tools for Google in Python, Javascript, using Django, Appengine for backend and Closure tools, Highcharts, jQuery for frontend. Also used the Google Cloud platform such as cloud-storage and Blobstore to archive/store cached data.■ Maintained a legacy C++ Map‐Reduce application for extracting and classifying GIS data from large internal GIS data stores (same one used by Google Maps) and writing them to shape files for consumption in ETL project. ■ Worked on automating/hardening a large data-migration project to migrate Google’s network inventory data from databases/text files/csvs to a larger relational data-store following the OTN network inventory model.■ Created a reports framework for creating dashboards to help visualize ETL fallouts. Used Google Closure Tools, Highcharts, for frontend and Python, App Engine for backend.■ Achieved Python Readability to help administer Google's python code-base. From January 2011 to June 2014 (3 years 6 months) Mountain ViewSoftware Quality Assurance Intern @ CaridianBCT ■ Developed test cases for the barcode management system in the ASM flagship product. ■ Assisted in designing a test automation framework for black-box testing the ASM software.■ Part of the performance evaluation team for testing/evaluating the ASM server against 32 Atreus simulators.■ Designed and implemented an XML editor to parse large Autotest XML definition files for the STS software.o Expedited test case generation by 24x. From June 2008 to December 2008 (7 months) Greater Denver AreaSystems Engineer @ ExpressAbility (EnterSpy) ■ Assisted in designing the EnterSpy spyware-definition database (using PostgreSQL) for security engineers.■ Designed, implemented and maintained multiple spyware-definition management tools for malware research.■ Created web-crawlers for sniffing out malwares on the internet.■ Worked with security engineers to create test server clusters for infecting with spyware and retrieving various types of OS data (registry, bios, etc.) for spyware definition db.■ Provided tier level III support to all engineers and customers for spyware definitions and analysis. From April 2006 to February 2007 (11 months) Kirksville, MOLead Backend Enginer @ Geosite Palo Alto, California, United StatesSenior Software Engineer (Airbus UTM) @ Airbus - Worked on automated systems that helps a drone pilot acquire FAA authorization for their flight plans. - Provides preliminary assessments using GIS data and flightpath GeoJSON, then seeks final authorization with the FAA and registers the flight-plan.- Maintained the backend legacy services for FAA LAANC authorization, added webhooks for partner notifications.- Integrated Datadog to backend services to help scrape logs and spans/traces for monitoring and incident management, with defined SLOs for uptime. - Helped add alerting capabilities using PagerDuty that alerts on email, phone and Slack if Datadog monitors fire off. - Created service dashboards that monitor logs and traces reported, spike graphs, etc.- Worked on the backend data pipeline services, that collects different types of data for Maps services as well as for processing assessments and authorizations. - worked on various optimizations using PostGIS for data processing.- Created the new mission planning and rules-engine FastAPI services using PostGIS and Redis to report flight-path assessments quickly.- For legacy services, using Python, Django-Rest-Framework, Celery, PostGIS, Redis and Terraform/GCP for deployments.- For new services, using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, Redis, PostGIS and using Kubernetes/Azure for deployments. From May 2019 to June 2020 (1 year 2 months) San Francisco Bay AreaSoftware Engineer (Contracting at Google, Mountain View) @ eTouch Systems WORKED AS A VENDOR-EMPLOYEE AT GOOGLE, NOT DIRECTLY FOR eTouch's own products. eTouch was just the staffing firm in this case. From January 2011 to May 2014 (3 years 5 months) Mountain View, CASoftware Enginneering Intern @ SnapLogic ■ Created the data integration pipeline for Pandora's batch data migration between internal databases and Salesforce.com, using SnapLogic 2.3. ■ Attended various client-sales meetings to demonstrate the effectiveness of the SnapLogic data-migration tool. ■ Redesigned the SnapLogic “LiveTrials” system in PHP to spawn new SnapLogic trial instances on the RackSpace cloud by communicating with the Rackspace API in JSON. This system can also remotely install snaps/connectors with the SnapLogic server's REST interface by communicating in JSON.
