I have over 18 years experience with audio-visual technology and the event market. I am a highly skilled operator capable of technically producing my own events. I bring creativity, passion, and an agenda for quality to my endeavors and in the past 4 years I have successfully grown a small business in live and on-demand web video services for the meetings and events industry.
Director & Software Developer - Video Streaming & Online Presentation Technology @ Hugely passionate about the opportunities that existed between the Internet and business events, I wrote software and developed a recording, production, and distribution service to facilitate the sharing of presentations, academic posters, and channels for live online interaction and participation.
Infoshare Technologies has delivered a range of AV production services with special focus in live and on-demand web broadcasts for the meeting and events industry. Projects have been completed for Roche, Novartis, Aust. Institute of Radiography (AIR), Aust. Information Security Association (AISA), Astra Zeneca, CSIRO, Aust. Wine Research Institute, and the International Movement Disorder Society among others. From 2010 to Present (5 years) AV Operator / Technician specialising in Vision Switching & Projection @ Developing Infoshare Technologies reinvigorated my passion for technology and the event market. I again began working with AV production companies – Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, T7 Productions, Haycom Staging, Great Big Events, Parley Presentation Technology, Pixel Line, Austage, Cairelle, Picture This, and 24/7 Productions – except this time running my own affairs as a contractor.
As a senior and skilled operator I have had the opportunity to hone my skills with the very best video and projection equipment the market has to offer. Roles have included show call / director, camera director / switcher, and content switcher / projectionist and I have become especially skilled in the installation and operation of multi-destination large-scale blended video projection. From June 2009 to Present (6 years 6 months) Environment Officer @ A short-term contract arose to work as the SCEC’s first full time environment officer. Given my recently completed environment studies major and my long-standing relationship with the SCEC it was a natural fit. I worked with the executive committee, department heads, and key personnel to construct and implement the SCEC’s first environmental management system according to ISO14001. In the aftermath of the GFC, the contract was not renewed and the position was made redundant. From February 2008 to June 2009 (1 year 5 months) AV Technician / Trainer @ On return to Australia, I was inspired by my teaching endeavors to get a tertiary education. During this time, I worked on a casual basis as an AV technician / operator with the SCEC. While there, I completed a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and was given the opportunity to draw on my previous teaching experiences to develop and deliver a curriculum covering the video component of the SCEC’s traineeship program. From January 2003 to December 2007 (5 years) Business English Language Instructor @ A chance trip to Thailand opened my eyes to the richness of other cultures and Bangkok became the base of a number of trips around S.E.A. and Europe. During this time I prepared and delivered English language courses to the students and employees of many well-regarded national and international organisations including Mahidol University, Inlingua, Kumon, Pfizer, Unilever, Nivea, Tesco-Lotus, Michelin, and the Siam Cement Group. From January 1999 to December 2002 (4 years) Original Music Production & Performance @ Music tuition in my formative years and a love for technology combined to produce a number of compositions and performances. I joined a synthesizer enthusiast group called Clan Analogue composing and performing as “Nonaz Nomis” with a notable performance at the Big Day Out. After this I formed a duo, “Head Affect” with a colleague and we ran an extensive electronic music recording studio together in Bondi. We performed live on radio, clubs, and festivals to audiences small and large, sometimes in excess of 1500. We had 7 Australian and 5 international CD and vinyl music releases mostly with Thunk Recordings, a rising Australian dance music label of the time formed by Brett Mitchell of Box Car. From January 1993 to December 2000 (8 years) Sydney Area, AustraliaAV Technician @ On completion of my audio engineering diploma, I was engaged full time by Intercity Staging and stationed at the ANA Hotel, where I learnt to rig and operate audio, video, lights, and staging for special events and business conferences. After 2 years I branched out to work freelance for the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Haycom Staging, Reuters Television, The Gearhouse Group, Wavelength Communications, and Video Plus among others rigging and operating AV equipment in a number of venues across Sydney. From January 1994 to December 1999 (6 years) Casual Employment and Event Production @ Interest in the electronic music entertainment industry in Sydney, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an audio engineering course led to the production of two major dance music events over this time. This was while doing casual work in retail. From January 1991 to December 1994 (4 years) Sydney Area, Australia
