She began her career with Express Professional Services recruiting contract and contract to hire talent across a variety of industries. While with Express, she was recruited by Xerox to support the operational growth of a major account. During her 10 year tenure with Xerox Corporation, she successfully held numerous roles with increasing responsibilities, all of which further developed her personnel, operational and financial management skills.
A yearlong sabbatical provided Sakena with the opportunity to support vocational programs and volunteer recruitment for Teen Living Programs, a non-profit that provides transitional housing and other resources to homeless teens in Chicago. It was through this experience that she decided to pursue a career change and recommit to a career in Talent Acquisition. She currently leads a full cycle recruitment team, while driving recruitment process improvements and ongoing talent acquisition strategies for TransUnion's Technology and Healthcare Operations/Services organizations.
