Chief Software Architect, MITRE Autonomous Ground Vehicle
Led the software design and development for the MITRE 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge entry. The Grand Challenge was a contest to build an autonomous ground vehicle that will travel across more than 140 miles of desert without human intervention.
Joint Simulation System Chief Engineer
Assumed the technical leadership role of this $1.6B project as part of the Joint Simulation System (JSIMS) reorganization. Held primary responsible for the overall JSIMS architectural evolution. This included leadership of the JSIMS Alliance Technical Group, publication and periodic revision of the system architecture document, and technical coordination of more than 30 software contractors.
Principal Investigator, Internal Research to Improve Java Simulation Performance
Two year effort to equip Java with the necessary speed and capacity for the construction of large-scale, interacting-process simulations.
Architect, HLA Runtime Infrastructure Verification Facility
Designed and managed the development of the High Level Architecture (HLA) Runtime Infrastructure (RTI) verification facility. An essential part of the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) technology transfer strategy for the HLA is a private sector economy for the production of HLA RTI software.
