Seek A Geek, Inc. Windows Systems Administrator/Support/Computer Repair @ Self Employed and contract work for “Seek A Geek, Inc” Computer support service over the last year. Computer rebuilds, software installs, and laptop support. Configuration of wireless LANs etc. Also OS installs and configuration. Various private accounts with Server decommission and rebuilds. Tried to help get business off the ground. From October 2013 to December 2014 (1 year 3 months) System Admin/Subject Matter Expert @ Hired to install tools remotely as part of a team effort for GMAC Financial, now called “ALLY”. Install IBM proprietary tools that monitor systems such as Tivoli, SRM, and Fusion health checking automation during pre-determined change windows. This included remote pre-checks for open ports for tool connection and pre-copying scripted installation files proprietary to IBM as they were taking over the account from HP. Most servers were Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 OS. From August 2011 to October 2013 (2 years 3 months) Windows System Engineer @ Hired to Build, install, and configure Symantec Enterprise Vault V8 for Exchange. Although I am not an exchange admin, I built a VMware 2003R2 Server and constructed the Vault from scratch. This involved “taking control” of the task at hand and installing, while getting to work properly, the numerous pre-requisites involved for the Vault. (SQL, Powershell Scripting, MSMQ, IIS), among others. This job required intensive research. I then had to manually migrate all users from Enterprise Vault V7 to V8. From October 2009 to August 2011 (1 year 11 months) Windows System Administrator @ On site System Administrator, INTEL team, for Panasonic Account in Secaucus NJ. Supported 300+ IBM Servers, various models from 230 – 440 (system x), and 3550/3650 series. Windows 2000/2003, in a Multi-Domain Active Directory environment. Maintained all hardware/OS and did server builds including two 64 bit systems. In addition, maintained 100+ VMware Servers on two VMware farms with periodic Virtual machine builds. All builds required IBM Global Services software to be installed (TSM, TREND, SRM, and Tivoli Monitoring/backup). Maintenance for physical systems include Server hardware, cabling, KVMs, etc. Worked with many support teams to keep systems upgraded with software to run IIS, Tivoli, Websphere, Citrix, Oracle, and PNA specific applications. Configure RAID and Disk arrays for server systems as necessary. Worked with MS Cluster server and several IBM HS-20 Blade Centers.
A large focus was on security; both in health checking and correcting security “holes” on all systems in and out of the DMZ. Security settings were made to match IBM/PNA agreed upon settings per GSD=331 documentation. Active Directory GPOs were changed or put in place depending on the Domain or Organizational Unit. Security health checking was done via the IBM VSA health checking tool (now called Fusion), and manually when needed as in the DMZ. Attack detection reports were gathered monthly using VSA also.
Maintained ACTIVE DIRECTORY (Users, Groups, OUs), as necessary with several domains (America, SCCLS0D1, and USIMSG). This contract included being “On Call” one week per month for New Jersey and remote support of several sites in Virginia, Illinois, and Washington.

Maintenance: Server hardware, Cabling, KVMs, etc. -in conjunction with Server operations (NOC). Worked with many support teams to keep systems upgraded with software to run (wafer robots stationed in a “clean Room”). Configure -RAID and Disk arrays for server systems as necessary. Built and managed four Microsoft Cluster servers. We had one pair for the application and one pair for the Oracle DB. Wrote batch scripts to implement disaster recovery procedures; (moved registry and monitoring software to a centralized area using scripts to be “picked up” by an FTP Server).
