I am an avid tech enthusiast, I enjoy using, learning about, configuring and researching anything related to technology. I've recently transitioned from an operations style role to a role in the DevOps realm. I really enjoy being able to use code to automate repeatable tasks, and use the close knit devops workflow to be able to create, research, and/or evaluate tooling to not only make development and operations teams more successful, but to enable everyone to be able to do their job more quickly and lessen the affects of re-work and human error.

Working as a DevOps Engineer, most of my responsibilities were inclusive of a build engineer, such as running Java builds through Bamboo, and deploying them to instances on AWS. Where I really came in was to automate processes that were manual in a push to grow from very manual processes to a one click run the build and deploy. Utilizing Chef, and Bash I have been able to help reduce the manual workflow for deployment by over 80% allowing a deployment to be done fully from bamboo if necessary.
