📖 Summary
Manager @ Hewlett Packard I led a team that developed micro-architecture for custom-fit VLIW processors. Previously, I was part of the HP Labs team that developed the PA-WW VLIW processor that eventually became the joint venture with Intel. From 1991 to 1997 (6 years) Palo Alto, CAVice President, Apps Product Management @ RingCentral Leading product management for all mobile, web and desktop unified apps for RingCentral end-users. Delivering world-class user experience for unified collaboration and communication - messaging, video meetings and phone.RingCentral, Inc. (NYSE:RNG) is a leading provider of cloud-based business communications and collaboration solutions, serving more than 400,000 customers from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. San Francisco Bay AreaFounder, CEO, Head of Product @ StatX Inc. (acquired by Tapclicks) StatX was a mobile messaging app whose UX innovation was to show widgets alongside the message stream to provide the user succinct visual information. Further, the user could connect these visual widgets in 3 clicks on mobile to cloud data sources like Salesforce, Oracle, GitHub etc. This enabled messaging augmented by contextual live data from any app in the business.I co-founded the company, secured $4M in Silicon Valley VC funding, built a world class engineering team, set strategy, and delivered my second exit. I principally held the PM role - including conception, roadmap, feature evolution, detailed specifications, UI/UX and worked closely on engineering and product delivery with my co-founder. From January 2015 to March 2019 (4 years 3 months) San Francisco Bay AreaVice President, Product Strategy @ Oracle After the Instantis acquisition by ORCL, I ensured successful merger integration and the Instantis product is still sold by Oracle today. As part of the executive team, I led Product Strategy for Instantis product and Cloud Transformation Strategy for the legacy products of the business unit. I evangelized the Instantis product with strategic customers, developed thought leadership pieces, led analyst relations resulting in a Leaders position in the Gartner Cloud IT PPM Magic Quadrant. From December 2012 to December 2014 (2 years 1 month) San Jose, CAFounder, CEO, Head of Product @ Instantis Inc (acq by ORCL) Instantis was one of the earliest PaaS companies that created a platform to create and deploy web applications at scale. Instantis pivoted to a SaaS app and became a leader in enterprise cloud software for Project Portfolio Management (PPM) with blue chip F500 customers like Verizon, Dupont, Johnson & Johnson, USPS and more. I led Instantis through its complete startup lifecycle - original product ideation, founding and executive team building, raising $30M venture capital, product management with two pivots, financial stewardship through two global recessions, deal making & partnerships, strategic sales, market leadership, customer success, growth, profitability and successful exit (acquired by ORCL, Dec 2012). From 1999 to 2012 (13 years) Santa Clara, CAVice President, Engineering @ Castelle Castelle was a publicly traded network appliance company where I led the multi-geography, multi-product engineering organization, including two acquisitions. I delighted the sales team by on-time and on-quality delivery of multiple Windows software and TCP/IP firmware product releases to over 6,000 customers representing over $40M in revenue. From 1997 to 1999 (2 years) Santa Clara, CAFounder, Coder, SysAdmin @ Internet Information Systems IIS was one of the earliest web development and hosting companies on the Internet with a recurring revenue model, with customers in high-tech, finance and recruiting. I wrote web application front-end and back-end software in HTML, Java, MySQL and ran 24x7 production servers on Linux and SunOS. IIS led to the idea of Instantis to automate the creation of web applications in the cloud. From 1993 to 1999 (6 years) Fremont, CA
