Founded in 2009, CrowdTwist is based in New York City’s Silicon Alley. From 2012 to June 2014 (2 years) Director of Client Services/Lead Software Engineer @ Team lead and lead architect on large scale (~150k SLOC) rich internet application for distributed real-time Business Intelligence caching framework. Introduced team to agile development processes, tailoring light-weight processes which allowed the team to meet all project release milestones through volatile customer requirements. Core project technologies include Java, GWT, HTML, Java Script, CSS, JSON, XML and various 3rd party products.

Software implementation contributor for various aspects of the core Armanta framework which provides complex BI capabilities on large datasets (terabyte range). BI capabilities include real-time reporting, “what-if” analysis, grid-computing, and custom aggregations without a priori knowledge of customer data models. Framework developed completely in-house using Java SE and EE technologies and is application server, database, and data model agnostic. From April 2010 to February 2012 (1 year 11 months) Sr. Systems Engineer @ Led multi-disciplined engineering team to $4.5+ million contract capture as team lead on radar environmental simulator product line initiative. Responsibilities included defining effectiveness measures alongside customer, design of hardware and software architecture, and proposal cost and schedule estimation.
Team lead and developer for performance monitoring and fault localization product line for mission critical sensor systems. Initiative included work in C++ for low level, distributed resource management of system hardware/software and Java SE 5.0 for system monitoring, fault detection/processing, and UI functions. Effort utilized various open standards and open source libraries and frameworks, including WBEM, CIM/CIM-XML, SNMP, Spring, ACE TAO, ACE, and Boost. Current baseline is ~120K SLOC.
Product Team lead and developer for $1.5+ million distributed framework for Net-Centric, real-time tactical sensor communications and monitoring capabilities. Initiative consisted of requirements development, design, implementation and test of a SOA through the use of Web Services, JMS, CORBA, RMI, and raw sockets in C++ and Java SE 6.0 / EE 5.0. Effort included MySQL for sensor observation storage/retrieval and visualization agents using HTTP, JSP, Servlets, Struts, and AJAX. Project baseline was ~150K SLOC.
Responsibilities across leadership roles include creating and managing program schedule and engineering resources, generating Software Development Plans, tracking and reporting earned value to senior executive team, requirements generation alongside clients, sizing and cost estimating, develop vs buy analysis, trade study execution, Scrum Master, and development work in C, C++ and Java SE/EE.
Actively participated in open standard consortium’s and Engineering Process Improvement initiatives for standardization of protocol and encoding concepts in software/sensor technologies. From June 2008 to April 2010 (1 year 11 months) Syracuse, New York AreaEngineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) @ Initiated and facilitated system architecture paradigm shift to distributed service-oriented architectures for mission critical sensor communications infrastructures. Prepared and presented business case to both internal stakeholders and external customers for buy-in, successfully securing $1.5 million multi-year funding.
Designed and developed large scale, multi-threaded, dynamic sensor models in C/C++ for the validation and verification of advanced missile propagation algorithms. Performed quantitative analysis using Monte Carlo simulation techniques to report on effectiveness of missile detection accuracy.
Designed, developed, and integrated large scale generic sensor model in C/C++for participation in HLA Federations for system of systems integrated missile defense testbeds.
