Head of Sustainability, Engineering, Energy & Environment @ Paul leads the business unit that is accountable for the “Sustainability, Engineering, Energy & Environmental” strategic and operational agenda for Sainsbury’s. This also includes the built environment (existing and new properties) incorporating both embodied and operational carbon through design and selection of construction and engineering solutions through to waste/energy management, recycling and setting energy and carbon reduction targets to 2030. He is a member of Sainsbury’s Climate Change Board and a member of numerous external bodies and boards relating to sustainability, carbon and climate change including: CBI, UKGBC, BRC, ETG, Prince’s Mayday Network and Imperial College/Grantham Institute Carbon reduction partnership and Climate KIC. In addition, he works in partnership with Sainsbury’s Corporate Affairs Division in support of driving improvements in Environmental, Sustainability and Carbon legislation, working collaboratively with key Government departments and NGOs. Paul is also an alumni of Cambridge Univerisities Sustainable Leadership Programme and a non-executive Board Director of Tamar Energy.
