- Successfully released the 6+ million lines of source code of the Java runtime to the so-called OpenJDK community (openjdk.java.net) under the GPL v2 license.
- Caused Java to be included as part of the standard install for the Red Hat, Fedora, Ubuntu and OpenSuse Linux distributions.
- Lead the design, development and on-schedule delivery of the Blu-ray Conformance Test Suite for the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA). This software is shipping in every Blu-ray player.
- Led the release under open source software license of Sun's tools for building Java conformance test suites.
- Created the annual Java Mobile and Embedded Developer conferences in Santa Clara, CA.
- Directed the redesign and relaunch of the JCP.org web site introducing workflow management and modern social communication tools. From January 2007 to March 2009 (2 years 3 months) Director & Chair, Java Community Process @ Responsible for the overall health of the standards organization for Java, the relevance and effectiveness of its IP polices to Sun and the industry, its worldwide reputation, its timely delivery of Java specifications.
- Grew the membership from around 150 members to over 1100.
- Brought Brazilian governmental departments into the Java community and achieved the Java technology to be formally endorsed by the Brazilian government.
- Led the governance and IP changes to the JCP to establish open source software as a first class citizen in the Java ecosystem.
- Led the design, development and launch of the JCP.org web site.
- Established the JCP as the recognized international standards body for the Java technology.

- Led the creation of the Executive Committees for the Java Community Process (the standards organization for the Java technology) and the migration of key decision authority from Sun to this body.
- Brought important industry icons such as the Apache Software Foundation, Nokia, SAP, Oracle, HP, Fujitsu and Siemens into the Java community.
- Supervised the yearly elections to the Executive Committees of the JCP. From 1999 to 2002 (3 years) Group Marketing Manager @ Group marketing manager for several Java technologies such as the Java Foundation Classes (Swing) and JavaBeans. Drove the adoption of JavaBeans and other Java technologies by key tool developers such as IBM, Oracle, Borland and SAS.
Designed and launched the JavaBeans Developer Kitchens – a worldwide series of hands-on technical workshops to introduce the new technology to developers and kickstart ISVs.
