đź“– Summary
Software Engineer @ SpotHero Chicago, ILCamp Counselor @ Wheaton Park District From May 2013 to August 2014 (1 year 4 months) Lifeguard @ Wheaton Sport Center From May 2011 to July 2012 (1 year 3 months) Senior Software Engineer @ Capital One I decoupled legacy processing of millions of consumer letters, statements, and emails into distributed cloud microservices with automated testing. Also, I led the team in designing and coding the largest email alert by volume, which delivers around 60 million alerts/month.When my team started to work with python, I took initiative to enhance a CICD pipeline for the department, allowing python microservices to be developed with automated testing and scanning, resulting in higher code quality and push-button deployment. My team aggregated 60GB of account data daily from 10+ sources, which was the backbone of a new user experience to enhance online collection’s efforts. The data was maintained on an AWS RDS, which was provisioned to manage connections with multiple APIs, as well as have a robust cross-region disaster recovery plan. After investigating secure password storage with AWS Lambda, I wrote a company-wide article with my findings on AWS Lambda security with environment variables, resulting in the personal support of 15+ applications across the business. I closed the gap in disaster recovery for the department's new user experience by alerting managers, initiating strategy meetings, and supporting teams as we implemented the collective failover plan. While I usually work on a agile development team, I frequently assist those around me, influencing their design choices and accelerating their work.I organize welcome meetings and networking sessions for interns and new hires, as well as volunteer with Capital One Coders, a S.T.E.M. program that teaches middle schoolers the basics of coding. From July 2016 to August 2018 (2 years 2 months) Richmond, Virginia AreaTechnology Intern @ Capital One Developed a data aggregation application, which used AWS Lambda to compile data into an RDS Postgres database. This data was then used by other teams to help monitor various applications.Conversion of the credit line increase program from old legacy rules to a new java implementation.
