Hired when Motorola was under Google ownership to rebuild Motorola's talent acquisition function after an extended period of downsizing. MM operated independently, but we implemented many talent principles from Google, adapted to work for Motorola. We built a team of 50 recruiters and enablers and were responsible for 700-1000 hires per year, depending on demand. From May 2013 to Present (2 years 8 months) San Francisco Bay AreaGlobal Head of Talent Acquisition @ Led the Global Talent Acquisition function for VISA.
Developed a global Talent Acquisition strategy and Talent Acquisition investment plan that was agreed with the operating committee. This enabled us to grow the global talent acquisition team to 90 and rapidly double capacity to 2,500+ hires per year.
Implemented global Talent Acquisition pillars that drove significant improvement in Visa's employment brand, customer and candidate satisfaction, candidate generation and pipelining. From April 2012 to May 2013 (1 year 2 months) Human Resources Director @ HR leader for Microsoft IT in Hyderabad, India. I created and delivered the HR strategy in support of significant business transformation. I successfully laid down the foundation and initial phases of a transformation of Microsoft IT organization of 1300 people that resulted in a fully staffed organization with increased capacity and capability, reduced bad attrition, higher employee satisfaction, significantly higher diversity and that that more closely reflected Microsoft's values and culture. Improvements included a 15% improvement in overall "MS poll" score) from 75% to 84% taking the org from last place to first place in a year. From September 2010 to April 2012 (1 year 8 months) Hyderabad Area, IndiaDirector - Global Talent Acquisition @ Ran the Talent Acquisition organization for the Online Services Division after Microsoft split the Platform and Services Division. This 6,500 person division is rapidly growing and is a vital component of Microsoft’s overall strategy. From February 2009 to September 2010 (1 year 8 months) Director - Global Talent Acquisition @ Talent acquisition leader for the Platform and Services Division, at the time Microsoft’s largest business division, comprising the Client and Online Services operating segments, with revenues of $19bn, net income of $10bn and over 20,000 employees. The division was an interesting mix of professions and had a global footprint and global hiring needs. From December 2004 to January 2009 (4 years 2 months) Vice President Recruitment Operations @ Successfully implemented a new account for Spherion's RPO business. The role involved the rapid set up a fully functioning talent acquisition function, to meet aggressive client targets and commercial commitments. From May 2004 to December 2004 (8 months) Managing Director and Founder @ Founded and grew this HR and Talent Acquisition practice. Primary lines of business were client advisory and consulting, retained search, contingency search and the onsite placement of world class talent acquisition professionals. From 2002 to 2004 (2 years) Houston, Texas AreaVice President - Talent Acquisition @ I was responsible for Enron’s global talent acquisition function, bringing the brightest and the best to the "Most Innovative Company in America". Enron employed approximately 20,000 staff and was one of the world's major electricity, natural gas, communications, and pulp and paper companies, with claimed revenues of nearly $101 billion during 2000.Fortune named Enron "America's Most Innovative Company" for six consecutive years.
