Associate of Science (AS), Computer Science @
Utah Valley University
I recently earned my B.S. in Computer Science from Utah State University. I am currently looking for an exciting and challenging position as a Software Developer. In school I studied many computer science basics but also used my electives to pursue my interests in computer graphics and complex networked applications. My current skills include programming in Java,
In my spare time, I enjoy working on a game I am making using Blender and Gimp for digital art and the Unity game engine for its core programming. Some personal projects I have worked on in the past include setting up a personal media/web server using Debian based system, setting up my own Home Theater PC, building my own gaming rig PC, designing and developing my own website with interesting technology like AJAX and HTML5 streaming video and creating my own personal audio recording studio. I love learning about new technology and enjoy tweaking it to fit my needs and wants.
Not all of my projects work out though. When I first started working on game development I was learning the XNA framework. I made some great progress in learning the technology required to make a game with it, but it was announced that Microsoft would no longer support the technology so I abandoned the project. I learned from the experience that I really need to be more organized in my work. I need to lay out time tables and keep up with the technologies I am using to ensure that my projects get finished before the technology they use is antiquated.
