As the UI/UX intern, I worked with AngularJS primarily, with the obvious supports from HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL. I became well versed in Angular and even learned the intricacies of a Java backend service. Along with the technical skills, my knowledge of the financial world increased dramatically. I partook in an intern edition trading challenge and learned about futures and options on a level that I wasn't familiar with. I attended several workshops (including MarketsWiki Summer Intern Series). From May 2016 to August 2016 (4 months) Greater Chicago AreaApplication Development Intern @ Calamos Investments I worked on transporting data from an old server system using SQL and I modified the online application that displays the data using C# and ASP.NET. The application was used to display client account information to the company's client relationship management team. I also created a configuration management database, which allows the IT team to see which projects use which servers and databases. This makes sure there's no damage from changing details of a server or database or any other item. From May 2015 to August 2015 (4 months) Student Intern @ CME Group CME's data was managed through PDF files, which were impossible to manipulate so I was charged to create a tool, which I created using Java, which converts PDF's to CSV files. The tool was first on a local drive and then I took the initiative to create a website for it where employees could upload and download the files in a very convenient way. From July 2014 to August 2014 (2 months) Software Engineer II @ Venmo Chicago, IllinoisSoftware Engineering Intern @ CME Group Worked on the Match Engine team to help with a new project exploring the layout of CME's order book and trading encryption. Also worked with Project UNO to fix and manage many front end websites. From August 2016 to November 2016 (4 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaProject Coordinator - Books to Prisoners @ Alpha Phi Omega - Alpha Alpha Chapter Worked as a liaison between the Books to Prisoners project in Champaign and the Alpha Alpha chapter of APO. Books to Prisoners is a project that works to raise the literacy of prisoners in local area correctional facilities. They receive thousands of letters per year and they require volunteers to sort through the letters, register new prisoners in their system, read the letters, and pack orders for specific correctional facilities. I work with APO to make sure that we provide enough volunteers and leave an open channel of communication between the two organizations. From September 2015 to December 2015 (4 months) Technology Chair @ Alpha Phi Omega - Alpha Alpha Chapter Created, updated, and managed the brand new apo-aa.org personal website for the Alpha Alpha chapter of APO. Used Squarespace to make basic tasks easier for later tech chairs who don't necessarily have the experience for web development.
