I was working on the mechanical damage model where I used First Order Reliability Methods to develop a probability estimation models using the pipelines characteristics and defect dimensions. I was also required to develop a tool to assess the total risk taking other models input into consideration, as well the dispersion modeling results of PHAST software to produce the pipeline profile risk picture. From June 2004 to December 2005 (1 year 7 months) Calgary, Canada AreaProcess Safety Engineer at Moduspec @ I successfully facilitated and scribed for a number of HAZOPs and HAZID reviews, and performed LOPA analysis for a number of refineries and plants across Alberta. I also helped in the development of a marketing solution for a new providing SIL services in the industry. From April 2004 to June 2004 (3 months) Calgary, Canada AreaSafety specialist @ Canadian engineering companies require Canadian engineering experience in order to work as an engineer, so I managed to volunteer at my first Canadian job at ACM. This required technical skills, effective and diplomatic communication skills, and interpersonal skills. I managed to: • Develop and implemented the Improved HIRA process for offshore pipeline risk assessment • Prepare, participate, and develop final report for on-going pipeline risk assessments (HIRAs) • Present a paper on the IHIRA summarizing the project results in the UKOOA international pipeline conference in Amsterdam with more than 100 delegates attending.
