Create design packs for overseas and in-house development. Provide design direction and concepts to Embellishment Designer. Review and approve silhouettes, muslins and 1st protos before showroom samples. Sign-off on trim sheet and manage Assistants to provide final version. Present approved styles to technical design, production/development teams during adoption meetings.
Leading the overall brand design direction and creative vision for all REBECCA TAYLOR licensing partners across all categories: apparel (women’s woven, knit, cut & sew, and accessories), handbags and small goods, swimwear and cover-ups, optical and sunglasses, hosiery and socks, gloves.
Preparing all outgoing design information and seasonal concepts, staying on trend with market needs around the world, identifying new sales opportunities, researching and acquiring out-sourced designs (print development, swatches, vintage references, sample research, seasonal illustrations) and overseeing the licensing development calendar. Managing all license partners, controlling and approving the aesthetic of each licensed products. From January 2010 to May 2014 (4 years 5 months) Director & Chief Designer @ Design Director of the REBECCA TAYLOR contemporary women’s apparel brand, overseeing design & development of exclusive products for the Japanese market (woven, knit, cut & sew and accessories); and Buyer for the collection line.
Supervised and managed 6 Designers, 2 Assistant Designers and 2 Pattern-Makers, controlling the collaboration with our Merchandisers/Sales Team across all the Top Japanese department stores (Isetan, Seibu, Mitsukoshi, etc…) and our 35 shop-in-shop concepts.
Controlled the branding aesthetic across the Japanese market under the master license: apparel; woven, knit, cut & sew and accessories; handbag and small goods; hosiery and socks; swimwear; sunglasses and optical glasses; gloves; shoes; jewelry; hats/scarves and handkerchiefs.
