Mike was recruited to SPMB in 2004 to help evolve the firm's business model. The vision was that the firm wanted to operate like an investment bank in terms of process and rigor, and given his background Mike was to be the chief architect of this strategy. He developed and implemented SPMB's search strategy, and the effect has been significant in transforming how the entire company approaches clients and the search process, including 12 years of unprecedented growth.
Mike has executed on over 175 CEO and VP search assignments, having built the executive teams at companies that created massive investor returns, including but not limited to:
--Elemental Technologies - Amazon's 5th largest acquisition, recruited almost all of executive team
--Isilon Systems - successful IPO, then acquired for $2B+, recruited almost all of executive team
--LSI - acquired by Avago for $6.6B in December 2013
--CDW - IPO in 2013, $10B+ in revenue
--TransUnion - 2015 IPO
Other high growth clients include Comcast, Amazon AWS, TicketMaster and FinancialForce.com.
Clients recognize Mike’s intense attention to detail and thoroughness - and his obsession with helping them achieve success even outside of recruiting. Candidates listen to him because he can walk through entire industries, helping them see the “big picture” while clearly articulating a roadmap to success for his clients.
Before joining the firm, Mike was at Standard & Poors, focusing on Applied Analytics and M&A transactions in the technology market. Clients included Adobe, Dolby, Excite, HP and VeriSign.
Prior, Mike worked on the Equity Capital Markets desk of Solomon Smith Barney in NYC, helping to bring the world’s most promising technology companies into the public markets.
Graduating from Georgetown University with honors, Mike received a dual degree in Advanced Finance and New & Small Business Management.
