Currently most of my experience is academic, but I have gained skills in my part time jobs and summer internships. Working as a lab aid has given me a better understanding of some of the basics. The most challenging part of teaching someone programming is trying to figure out how they are thinking about a problem and how to steer them in the right direction from there. At Lava Logistics I worked a lot with Microsoft SQL Server, and created some small Java and VB.net applications. As a member of the REU program at Dakota State University I got to work on a Network Security project. The IT position for the Department of Residence Life at NAU taught me a lot about hardware, and maintaining windows systems.
