Value Stream Manager @ As the components value stream leader I am responsible for driving the team to achieve the kpi’s for safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory in a union environment. In my current role I have five direct reports and up to 100 hourly employees in a twenty four hour facility. From April 2013 to Present (2 years 9 months) Continuous Improvement Specialist @ From August 2012 to April 2013 (9 months) Purchasing/Lean Implementation Leader @ As the purchasing/lean implementation leader I am responsible for the development and deployment of a lean purchasing system that will support productions ability to meet and exceed customer needs as well as organizational objectives of cost reduction. Additionally I am working with operations to train and implement a continuous improvement system. From September 2011 to August 2012 (1 year) Senior Lean Buyer/Planner/Danaher Business Systems Leader (DBSL) @ As the Senior Lean B/P and site DBSL for the Videojet Technologies Inc. Belleville location I was responsible for all aspects of daily purchasing requirements, inventory management and material planning for a Danaher leading lean manufacturing operation. This included the development of action plans to support the achievement of goals defined in the strategy deployment process as well as the key process indicators (KPI) that would be tracked to ensure our progress towards the goal. Additionally I was responsible for determining the root cause when an action plan was not achieving the expected results and developing counter measures to ensure the successful completion of the strategic goal.
In many cases kaizen events were used to achieve the stretch goals defined in the strategy deployment process. As DBSL it was my responsibility to not only strategically deploy the use of the kaizen throughout the plant but also to plan, facilitate/lead, and train the team members on the lean tool being used during the kaizen. We deployed a wide range of tools including the Danaher materials presentation (DMP), mixed model cell implementation (MMI), standard work (SW), 5S, production preparation process (3P), as well as total process improvement (TPI). In addition I also led and participated in multiple kaizens at other Danaher facilities. From November 2007 to September 2011 (3 years 11 months) Assistant General Manager @ In my role as Assistant General Manager I was responsible for supporting our customer base by managing our inventory at just in time levels for our key accounts. This was accomplished by implementing a lean materials pull system based on customer demand and supplier lead times. The improvements we saw in on time delivery to our customers and inventory reduction won our branch the most improved store in the St. Louis area award for 2006. In this role I was also responsible for expanding the customer base through outside sales calls, marketing through the storefront display and rotation of monthly sale items at the point of sale, as well as low cost region sourcing and supply chain management.
