Matthew Griffith, CFA has been helping clients manage investment portfolios for over 13 years. While serving as an analyst at Cohen & Steers, Matthew covered the energy, industrial, and technology sectors for the firm’s Large Cap Value product. During his time with the team, Matthew led the development and implementation of the Large Cap Focused Value product. He also acted in the capacity of associate portfolio manager for several institutional accounts. Matthew remains active in the broader investment community and presented at VALUEx Vail in both 2014 and 2015.
In addition to his work as an equity analyst, Matthew has experience in virtually all aspects of managing institutional investment portfolios, including asset allocation, alternative investments, manager research, trading, quantitative analysis, operations, and technology. Matthew’s experience comes from investing on behalf of and advising sophisticated investors at Russell Investments, Vulcan Capital, and Fidelity Investments.
Matthew has a B.A. from Boston College in Computer Science and is a CFA Charterholder. Led the development of a new strategy consisting of a concentrated version of the US large cap value product, including idea generation, back-testing, development of marketing materials, and presenting to the firm’s new product committee. This effort culminated with the firm approving a seed investment in the strategy.
Interacted regularly with clients, prospects, and internal sales and client service teams.
Performed quantitative analysis on an investment universe of 500+ global securities, including creating a dividend discount model used to value the entire universe and relevant benchmarks.
