From August 2012 to November 2012 (4 months) Recruitment Manager - Technology and Trading @ GETCO is a global market maker focused on helping investors efficiently transfer risk. Our primary business involves both buying and selling securities to provide two-sided markets on exchanges around the world and as a Designated Market Maker (DMM) on the New York Stock Exchange. The electronic liquidity we supply allows individual and institutional investors to immediately transfer the risk often associated with securities while saving money on trading costs. In addition, we also provide customers with routing services and dedicated liquidity through an Alternative Trading System, GETCO Execution Services (GES). I worked to remove the reliance on third party agency suppliers and establish a technical value proposition for prospective candidates. The reduction in cost and the growth of interest in the GETCO brand led to increased UK campus activities, an ability for the UK office to build pipelines of candidates for the first time and a chance to refine the ad-hoc recruitment practices that had been in place. I managed a small team of a senior recruiter and a co-ordinator. Running a very efficient and robust process that delivered true return of investment for our stakeholders.
