I am in search for an opportunity that will challenge my current skills, and allow me to develop new ones. Currently I am interested in pursuing a degree in law; as a result any opportunity that can provide me with exposure in this area will be best. However, I will entertain a prospect in a different area of interest as long as it helps me to develop a very specialized skill.

Consumer Protection Specialist @ From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina AreaForeign Language Intepreter II / Public information Assistant @ As a Public Information Assistant I respond to routine customer inquiries and provide consumers with basic information concerning consumer protection laws and the Division’s function. In addition I translate consumer complaints, DOJ correspondence, company responses, legal documents and other written information as requested by specialists, attorneys or supervisor accurately in a timely manner. I also represent the attorney General’s office at Latino/Hispanic public outreach events; distributes information and answers consumer questions, as requested. From June 2011 to Present (4 years 7 months) Employment Consultant @ As an Employment consultant with the Employment Security Commission of NC, also known now as The NC Department of Commerce, I was responsible for explaining and guiding state workers and employers about the official procedure involving the payment of unemployment benefits. These responsibilities included the actual establishment of claims and eligibility review, re-employment counseling, job placement and making appropriate referrals to external agencies as needed. In addition I contacted employers to gain listings of available opportunities. During my most recent role I was chosen to launch, execute and create a model for others to follow, of a new federal funded program called Re-Employment and Eligibility Assessment, where claimants identified most likely to exhaust their benefits and continue unemployed were chosen. I enjoyed this position particularly, because of the diversity in the roles I was asked to execute. For example, I was 1 out of the only 2 Spanish speaking consultants at this local office. Therefore, in addition to serving English speaking state workers I also focused on assisting Spanish only speaking claimants. I was proficient in all of the services provided by the agency to effectively assist the non-English speaking population and provide them with a one stop service. I delivered information about services provided by the agency in meetings, conferences and community outreach events. From April 2009 to June 2011 (2 years 3 months) Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina AreaHuman Resource Staffing Recruiter @ As a Human Resource Staffing Recruiter, I created and fostered relationships with colleges and diverse professional organizations in order to attract and recruit a diverse candidate pool, focusing on the Hispanic workforce. I reviewed candidate skills and experience to determine appropriateness for available opportunities and prepared them for interviewing with Quality Staffing Specialists staff Supervisors by providing detailed information on the company, business strategy, location, job descriptions, and expectations. From April 2006 to March 2009 (3 years) Receptionist @ In this position I prepared medical records for first time patients, servicing a total of 350 to 400 clients per day. I verified client eligibility to receive Medicaid and Food Stamps in the system and performed general office duties. From June 2005 to October 2005 (5 months)
