To facilitate this transition SVB implemented a new Intranet platform based on Oracle WebCenter.
As Oracle WebCenter and Java specialist Marcel Oldenkamp initially played a key role in requirements gathering and translation of functional requirements to Oracle WebCenter technologies. As team lead of the core development team (consisting of multiple specialists) Marcel contributed to the installation, configuration and implementation of the new Intranet. This was a challenging task considering the infrastructural changes that where taking place in parallel projects. As team lead during the development phase, Marcel Oldenkamp was responsible for the development of a custom WebCenter Portal (ADF) application and training/coaching of three junior team members. Marcel stayed in contact with stakeholders, guarded the scope and coordinated incident management with Oracle Support.
The new intranet is currently in production and is based on the complete WebCenter Suite using Secure Enterprise search, WebCenter Spaces, WebCenter Content (UCM) and a Custom Portal with Single Sign On. From September 2011 to November 2012 (1 year 3 months) AmstelveenOracle ADF/BPM 11g developer @ The Nordea bank (Sweden, Stockholm) is working on an improvement program in order to expand their market. Insight is needed in process delays and possible improvement areas. An Oracle BPM solution must provide the desired insight based on real-time information. This must be done for the Nodea branches in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland in cooperation with Capgemini Austria, India and The Netherlands.
As ADF/Java/WebCenter developer at the Nordea BPM project Marcel Oldenkamp has developed the User Interface in an Oracle BPM/ADF (11g) environment. The challenge was to design and implement a generic solution for 140 screens. The solution designed by Marcel has saved considerable amount of development time and simplified future maintenance. The approach has been verified and praised by Oracle PTS. Besides working with ADF, Marcel has also worked on implementing the BPM processes in BPMN 2.0 (SOA Suite 11g).

As an Oracle WebCenter/ADF specialist Marcel Oldenkamp lead a Proof Of Concept project in which he assessed the feasibility of transforming an existing web application “MijnSVB.nl” to the Oracle WebCenter (11g) platform. From June 2011 to June 2011 (1 month) AmstelveenLead Functional Designer and Oracle WebCenter developer @ Vopak is the world’s leading storage provider for bulk liquids. They have terminals around the world where products such as oil and chemicals are stored for their customers. The Vopak ICT landscape consists of a wide variety of system and applications. They are looking to unify these systems and further institute uniform operating procedures.
The Vopak Portal project was initiated to build a platform that enables one central information access point for all Vopak employees and customers. In the project start-up phase, Marcel Oldenkamp took on the responsibilities of Lead Functional designer. In the next project phases, he joined the development team in building the Portal application. Marcel quickly became an expert in the field of Oracle WebCenter Framework (11g) and ADF. He has extended his knowledge and experience in WebLogic Server (11g), deployment procedures, Oracle Universal Content management, WebCenter Spaces and ADF security (in combination with Single Sign On). From November 2009 to February 2011 (1 year 4 months) Java Developer - Opus BNU Online Portal project @ The APG information system BNU is used by Algemene Pensioen Group (APG) as well as Loyalis N.V. to calculate gross/net payments; this does not comply to the current legislation, in particular the law (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens). The new BNU Online Portal system prevents non-compliancy sanctions. It is an IBM WebSphere Portal project using Java Server Faces (JSF), ClearCase, ClearQuest, Webservices and RUP.
As a Java developer, Marcel Oldenkamp was responsible for implementing new functionality and analysing/fixing defects. He also participated in several knowledge sharing initiatives (performing peer reviews and presentations).
Marcel was able to quickly master the technologies uses on the project (IBM WebSphere / JSF). Within a brief amount of time he became a highly productive member of the development team. Besides delivering the specified functionalities he also took the initiative to suggest and implement improvements in the area of application maintainability and user friendliness. From June 2009 to September 2009 (4 months) Java Developer @ The organisation that arranges the Nijmeegse Vierdaagse walking event is responsible for the safety of several thousand participants. The organisation uses real-time information such as the position (longitude/latitude) of the mobile phone of a participant. They want to use this information to predict possible bottlenecks along the route. The project involved building a GSM location based service, including a client, server and webapplication (Apple iPhone compatible).
On this highly innovative project, Marcel Oldenkamp performed the roles of designer, developer and tester. He continued the development of a client and server application, which visualizes real-time information. Among other things Marcel set-up a webservice and implemented highly complex algorithms for GSM/GPS positioning and density calculations. He also worked on the user interface and database communication.
The application made an important contribution to the successful completion of the largest walking event in the Netherlands. The service received media attention and other organisations have shown an interest in its reuse.

From April 2009 to June 2009 (3 months) Java Developer @ As a developer on the ING RINGO project, Marcel Oldenkamp was part of a team that build a large Java web application. The project involved the integration of two banks, namely ING bank and Postbank, and required a high degree of cooperation between several different teams such as Capgemini onshore (NL), Capgemini offshore (India) and the ING business units.
Marcel was responsible for analysing and fixing the defects that were allocated to him and implement new functionality. During implementation Marcel became skilled in using numerous techniques and tools such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Java 2 Security, LDAP, Web Services, WAS, Log4j, JUnit, HTML, JSP’s, XML, JiBX and JAXB. He used IBM rational ClearQuest and ClearCase for change management and versioning and was responsible for planning and estimating (ETC) his own activities. During the course of the project Marcel took on more responsibilities. He led the daily Scrum session with the offshore team developers and testers. From July 2008 to February 2009 (8 months) Data load analist @ As a member of the Product & Content Database Team at bol.com Mr. Oldenkamp was responsible for monitoring and optimizing the (fully automated) process of handling product and content data. The data consisted mainly of pricing, graphical and descriptional information of the 1.4 million products that bol.com offers on their website.
Marcel’s activities consisted of analyzing and answering the daily operational questions that originated from various departments within bol.com. This required an intimate knowledge of the Oracle database structure used by bol.com and a good understanding of the business as well as the query language SQL. Marcel was also responsible for monitoring and improving the information flow between the numerous product/content suppliers and the bol.com website, for which he formulated several functional requirements. The software forthcoming these requirements has been extensively tested by Marcel, which resulted in a more efficient and fault tolerant system. From September 2007 to December 2007 (4 months) e-logistics Analist, Orderdataflow controller @ Bol.com is the largest internet web-shop in the Netherlands, their products range from books to LCD TV’s. Mister Oldenkamp worked on the logistic department, which designs and maintains the systems and processes that support and supervise the logistical partners of bol.com. This department mainly deals with processcontrol and processoptimisation. In this highly dynamic and fast growing company Marcel worked on improving the data handling processes. This was achieved by analysing the functional shortcomings, proposing solutions and implementing the changes.
During his work at bol.com Marcel gained an extensive experience in the areas of e-logistics, process management, oracle databases and SQL. Through his contribution the logistics department was able to optimally perform during some of busiest periods of the year.
