Lead Engineer / Manager @ Generation Wireless (GENWI) Help manage, design, and implement product features across multiple platforms. From August 2010 to April 2014 (3 years 9 months) Los Altos, CADeveloper @ Highwire Press Stanford University · Maintained as well as created and launched websites following a preexisting Highwire process. This process involved working with several other departments within Highwire to bring the goal of having publisher produced content accessible on the web. All work within Highwire is through a remote UNIX shell.· Was part of a special group dedicated to handling the maintenance of Oxford Journals, one of Highwire Press' largest clients. Communication within this group was paramount to its success due to the number of requests for features installs, bug fixes, and site launches.· Quickly learned and mastered Highwire Press' in house programming language as well as file and site architectures.· Excelled in prioritizing time sensitive tasks requested by publishers through the application Quickbase which consisted of feature upgrades to bugs within the websites. From March 2009 to October 2009 (8 months) Intern to Developer @ Nebraska Legislative Technology Center · Developed a web application for the Legislative Research Library to maintain, track, edit, and search pending and completed research requests from Nebraska State Senators. This application was created using the PHP language with the Smarty template engine, and was backed by a MySQL server. The work done on this application was done on a remote Linux web server. The application itself replaced an inadequate and confusing paper based tracking system, and was an alternative to paying for a proprietary system.· Implemented a Java print function in Arbortext's EPIC Editor to allow Transcribers to convert transcriptions into PDFs by making a call to FOP and an XSL file. This project required a remote login into a windows shell.· Collaborated with the Legislative Revisers Division to create in house PHP web applications with the Smarty template engine, for the management of statute data which was previously maintained on a mainframe. · Cleverly designed an automation tool to create the PDF chapter files for the 2006 Nebraska State Legislative Supplement. This tool created large XML files from scattered information from various MySQL databases and XML documents. Using FOP, with a custom XSL style sheet, the PDFs were created to adhere to the strict legal document guidelines enacted by the State of Nebraska's Revisers Division. This automation tool consisted of PHP and Perl scripts, and is the first successful attempt in creating an in house publishing platform for the State of Nebraska's Legislative branch.· Successfully created transcriptions PDFs using PHP scripts from mainframe data dumps dating back to 1960.
