I’m a freelance writer passionate about pursuing a career in the magazine industry. I’m currently in my last semester at Elon University, where I’m finishing up a major in journalism and double minor in French and psychology. I’ve spent the past six years working in the magazine industry, interning for publications like O, The Oprah Magazine, CBS Watch! magazine, and Nashville’s Nfocus magazine. Most recently, I interned in the fashion and digital editorial departments at NYLON magazine. There, I pitched and wrote news items for the website on a daily basis, built and edited posts in NYLON‘s content management system, used design software to assemble the NYLON Fall 2015 trend book, and assisted on photo shoot sets. Though I specialize in writing and editing, I’m passionate about immersing myself in every facet of magazine production. And as the Editor-in-Chief of Elon’s on-campus magazine, The Edge, I’ve been able to do that. In addition to writing and editing pieces on a daily basis, I’m actively involved in selling ads, marketing content on social media, designing pages, and creating multimedia packages. Under my leadership, The Edge has been completely redesigned and restructured, seen a significant increase in readership (my staff and I quadrupled readership with our first issue), and produced an award-winning special edition on self-image.
