Implemented an IT Operational Services management model that takes a cross-functional approach to managing work demand and budget, along with facilitating the response and closure of open audit findings assigned to IT Operational Services. Led the business operations for IT Operational Services (annual budget of $74M); created tools and introduced process discipline which did not exist within the organization that allowed for business data collection, reporting and analysis of monthly operational spend; led the operational planning effort to reduce the operational spend 13% from 2007 to 2008—these efforts contributed $8M annual savings. Identified commodity solutions for SaaS delivery and migrated enterprise email and ITSM to the public cloud.IT Service Management Improvement – Developed and initiated an ITSM improvement program to raise the overall maturity and effectiveness of IT’s processes to increase change quality, reduce MTTR and improve overall systems stability. The initiative was conducted over 30 months at a project value of $38M. Concurrently, responsible for the operation of AAA’s data center environment across six facilities in three states. From April 2009 to April 2010 (1 year 1 month) Program Manager @ California State Automobile Association (AAA) Selected Major Programs/Strategic Projects:• IT HQ Relocation – Delivered, on time and on budget ($6.5M) the IT infrastructure for the new IT HQ, NOC and IT Service Center with the capacity to support over 600 employees/contractors.• Contact Center Deployment – Delivered, on time and on budget ($10.5M), all IT-related aspects of the design and build-out of the Membership/Insurance Services call center within the new IT HQ in Glendale, AZ with the capacity to support 675 agents and administrative staff.• MPLS Migration – Delivered, on time and on budget ($3.7M) the migration of 119 sites from an ATM/FR PVC-meshed core network to MPLS and set the foundation for the future VoIP rollout—this resulted in $500K in annual savings• VoIP Upgrade Program – Delivered, on time and on budget ($3.2M), a major upgrade to the AAA WAN backbone, LAN switching architecture and facilities infrastructure to support POE for VoIP. From March 2004 to July 2006 (2 years 5 months) Sr. Program Manager @ Cable & Wireless Projects and assignments were based upon the integration of the Digital Island network and customers into the C&W network, along with the rationalization and the optimization of existing systems and networks.Selected Accomplishments:• Network Integration/Rationalization Program – Successfully drove the reduction in the Digital Island monthly network operational expense from $3.1M to $1.2M per month—this resulted in $23M in annual savings.• Data Center Integration – Successfully integrated four Digital Island data centers in three continents into C&W—in conjunction with Change Management—all network activities were conducted during major maintenance windows resulting in no service disruptions outside the windows.• Cisco Router Optimization – Successfully delivered optimization project for C&W’s customer access router infrastructure; migrated 969 customers and decommissioned 106 Cisco 7507s from the environment—this resulted in > $1M in annual maintenance savings.
