I am currently a pursuing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine as a first year student at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. I will be tracking food animal with a personal emphasis in dairy cattle. My hope is to gain experience over the next four years through classes, clubs, and externships to practice primarily on dairy cattle as a veterinarian. I am currently the Vice-President of the Class of 2018, a CVM Student Ambassador, and the President-Elect of the Theriogenology Club.
This past January through May 2014 I was an intern for Genex Cooperative Inc. in their Genesis program, which is their own herd of Holstein cattle to create superior genetics. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to: caring for calves, dehorning, tagging, sanitation, calvings, feeding calves, A.I. Breeding, and helping on flush days with both Holstein heifer donors and beef recipients.
I graduated from Berry College in December 2013 with a B.S. in Animal Science. I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience from this wonderful institution through very hands on labs, research experience and premium work experience.
