Kari is currently studying growth marketing at Tradecraft (www.tradecrafted.com), an intensive full-time program for professionals who wish to advance their skills in growth marketing, UX design, sales & BD or engineering.
Kari is a graduate of McGill University, with a Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering and expertise in product design and entrepreneurship. Further, she has completed training and/or certification in project management, computer programming, game design, sustainability leadership and currently growth marketing.
Before, moving to San Francisco for her studies, Kari worked as a Project Manager at V2G. There, she worked with for-profit and not-for-profit clients/partners to bring to life their digital media needs. In this role she has collaborated with both the client and production team to create timelines, budgets, concept pitches, user personas, user stories, wireframes, spec sheets including feature prioritization, usability studies, project charters and funding proposals. Kari has also acted as a scrum master, conducted market research and has developed new revenue streams/partnerships for projects. She has been very fortunate to work with organizations such as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - BC/Yukon Chapter, OUTtv and the Vancouver Public Library.
Kari stays engaged with her regional community through work with charitable organizations and sports clubs. She currently volunteers with Athletics for Kids where she works with the executive director to run an annual volleyball tournament and coordinate baseball ticket distribution. She is also the captain of one of her two recreational league soccer teams and regularly attends startup events. Kari is fluent in English and is functional in French. She is currently learning HTML, CSS, SQL and Ruby.
