Hosting of production VMware farm as well as all major production services offered to the business unit.Key Accomplishments:• Led a team of five system engineers that provided lab and infrastructure support for engineering 24x7x365. • Reduced customer found defects and enhanced product stability by implementing an Alpha Unified Communication solution used across engineering leveraging the business unit’s latest products. This allowed the identification of defects before they became costly customer escalations. • Reduced the complexity and footprint of Cisco’s Unified Communication offering by leading the first virtualization effort on Cisco UCS-B series prototypes. Reduced an 8000 agent call center from roughly 70 physical servers across 3-4 racks to virtualized instances within a single rack.• Reduced incoming support requests by over 30% by standardizing lab operations and creating a centralized support model that encouraged knowledge sharing and end user empowerment. Key Accomplishments:• Built a dynamic team responsible for the design, delivery, and implementation of Wayfair’s global infrastructure.• Oversaw the site-to-site migration of Wayfair’s primary e-commerce environment. Accomplished site transition with zero visible customer impact and no unplanned disruption to the business.• Delivered two greenfield data center builds.
