I enjoy working in Unix environments, developing web and iOS apps; with a solid knowledge and understanding of most major languages and systems including (but not limited to): * PHP (with Laravel 5 being my major choice for framework) * Objective-C (with Cocoa) * Java * Ruby * Node.js I was placed in the top 10% of all test takers in the I.K.M. (International Knowledge Measurement) PHP 5 aptitude test under supervised conditions.Director @ From April 2015 to Present (9 months) Technical Producer for Dream 2016 @ From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Technical Producer for Schools' Broadcasts @ * Redevelopment of question submission services, building on the system used for Richard II. * Providing further analytical data and reporting services from schools From March 2014 to Present (1 year 10 months) Contract Full-stack Developer @ Designing and developing software for the fashion retail sector. Most recent role involved designing and developing a custom reporting tool for Primark, to track new supplier applications via the website. Technologies used include: PHP/Laravel, Java, Node.js, Javascript. From January 2013 to Present (3 years) London, United KingdomDirector of Technology @ Role includes:- Managing development of all software systems and websites relating to the event. Examples of these systems are:- * 'Create', a bespoke content commissioning platform, allowing producers to submit information regarding their shows and track the process through commissioning and QC. (Built with PHP, and Laravel) * Event iOS app - providing information and live viewing of the show * Website - http://thedegreeshow.com * Role applications * Event dashboard - a screen displaying a variety of live information relating to the event * Event ticketing and analytics * 'Doors' - a native app for iPhone/iPad to be used in-house by the front of house team to print passes, provide analytics and check in guests From December 2013 to July 2014 (8 months) Freelance Master Control Operator @ From November 2013 to January 2014 (3 months) London, United KingdomTechnical Producer for Richard II in Schools @ Following last year's hugely successful broadcast of I, Cinna: The Poet into UK schools, the RSC once again streamed a broadcast of Richard II into classrooms across the UK, followed by a live Q&A. The broadcast to schools happened on Friday 15 November. The broadcast was hosted by Konnie Huq and included a live, interactive Q&A session with Director Gregory Doran and actor David Tennant. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22686410 Role included:- * Coordinating technical aspects of the show * Configuring and deploying a fleet of load-balanced Linux VMs for stream delivery, working in Origin/Edge configuration. * Developing question submission app, with administration services (built with Laravel, and Node.js) * Developing live updating map for use in the studio From September 2013 to November 2013 (3 months) MCR Technical Assistant @ Primarily involved ingesting different types of media into the EVS Xedio system (and IPDirector). The media mostly came in the form of tape, Sony SxS cards, and YouTube links. To assist with the YouTube ingesting, I wrote a program that took the video URL and transcoded the YouTube video to DVCPROHD; then transferred to IPDirector ready for Xedio. During my free time at the event, I also wrote a web-based system to manage the flow of media cards. It allowed the ingest operators to keep track of the card (throughout the ingest and archiving process), and perform the necessary checks before formatting. This meant any member of the team (including editing) could see the current state of the tape; what was on it; and when it would be available. From September 2013 to September 2013 (1 month) Head of Interaction @ Role included: - Programming and developing the iOS app - Design and development of web systems (such as the graduate profile manager) - Management/distribution of web traffic - Creating and maintaining the Linux-based server systems - SQL based data store - D&D of Event APIs From February 2013 to August 2013 (7 months) Audio Playback Operator @ Responsible for playing back all audio to the Royal Artillery Barracks.
