I’ve been in staffing for 14 years. Outside of recruiting I tried life insurance sales on a straight commission basis for about a year. Although I came back to HR, I believe the sales experience was a great training process for me to become a more aggressive and resourceful recruiting leader. I love networking and bringing about efficiencies in talent acquisition. I keep a good amount of friends, colleges, old colleges, and organization affiliations in my networking circle, because I strongly believe that every person you come in contact with could help you make a great connection. I feel networking has made my job easier, and it allows me to help others reach their goals as well. I also love the satisfaction I get from building relationships with hiring managers and helping them to add great people to their teams to bring the company to its next level.
Currently I am working with Verizon Wireless managing the headquarters talent acquisition team supporting Engineering, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and Enterprise sales. As a leading technology company I get to be exposed to exciting new developments and Verizon continues to lead the way in the tech industry. On a personal note this is the best company I have ever worked for. The on-site gym, cleaners, and convenience store contributes to my work life balance, the company values promoting internally, development and training. The benefits are top notch compared to what I have experienced in the past and the overall feeling is an encouraging team environment. Really enjoying my time which makes it easier for me to recruit others. It always feels good to sell a product that you can personally benefit from.
