From November 2017 to January 2019 (1 year 3 months) Seattle, WASenior Software Development Engineer @ Website:- Led development of Project List page which computationally priced home projects.- Built many smaller components/features including provider landing and city/trade pages.- Prototyping new features to test feasibility and gauge interest.Feedback App:- Primary developer (of 2). From July 2013 to October 2013 (4 months) Software Development Engineer, Kindle @ Amazon Amazon Households: Jan 2013 - June 2013• Lead android engineer. Responsible for architecting client side (android) components. Worked closely with the Amazon platform team to design and implement fast user switching for family members on Fire devices. Interfaced with many teams across Amazon to design and develop an API for them to integrate with when dealing with household members.Kindle FreeTime (Android): Jan 2012 - Dec 2012• Led the client development effort for the FreeTime kids experience on the Kindle Fire tablet family. Despite the short schedule (March through September) and numerous external dependencies, FreeTime shipped in 2012 and was a major success for Amazon.• Built all of the custom UX elements that are used in the FreeTime application including the stack control for displaying episodes within a season, the recommendations shoveler, and the library views.• Architected and helped design many other components of the application including: the user library with the caching strategy (ETAGs) to support Amazon Christmas traffic, TimeCop (the ability to limit the amount of time a child can spend in different content areas), and the subscription signup pages (implemented as a web view instead of natively as the rest of the app).• Wrote many other components of the app including: the profile picker, the parent whitelisting UI, and the image caching and downloading managers.• Worked closely with the product team to iterate on designs and deliver changes quickly and with minimal thrash. Web Client Development* Implemented challenging, dynamic designs across browsers in performant, maintainable way.* Worked closely with design team through all stages of feature development to produce ambitious but implementable designs.* Domain expert in web UI development; expertise with JavaScript, including prototype-based class hierarchies, jQuery, DOM construction and manipulation, and data access and update using AJAX model.* Pioneered use of jquery.ui framework at Cozi; extended framework to support easy sub-classing, and established patterns for integrating jquery.ui widgets into existing web client MVP architecture.* Took ownership of calendar pages; continuously improved infinite scrolling implementation for maintainability and performance with large data sets through many web client releases.* Web client feature lead for journal sharing, a major focus of Cozi feature design and engineering in 2009.
