My business objectives are to maximize business results by providing quality legal service, and lead the business in establishing comprehensive practices, policies, and procedures that accelerate business objectives while managing risk within a “risk window” established through consultation with executive management. Some noteworthy items about me include:
- I am a fiduciary on a 401(k) plan committee;
- I facilitated the creation of a tenant screening committee for the NCRA;
- I manage a legal team of 9 employees (2 attorneys, 3 paralegals and 4 contract admins);
- I sit on the board of a non-profit charity, Sunshine Heroes.
Chief Legal Counsel @ I manage the legal department and facilitate the collaboration and optimum productivity from the legal staff and outside counsel for a rapidly growing Saas company. I am responsible for all the legal and corporate affairs, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, licensing, intellectual property, contracting, employment law, litigation and general legal support for the company’s executive, management, and business teams. From September 2010 to Present (5 years 4 months) Contract Attorney @ Conducted legal research (WestlawNext), drafted memos, reviewed contracts and discovery requests in the fields of business law, real estate law, civil litigation, estate planning and family law. From 2009 to 2010 (1 year) Member @ Worked at litigation firm, where I researched and drafted a myriad of memos, motions, contracts, leases, discovery requests, law related documents, and participated in mediation, arbitration and litigation. From 2006 to December 2009 (3 years) Leasing Office Manager @ I was a night-shift manager at a leasing office. Duties included showing apartments and condominiums to prospective residents and supporting the property's marketing plan. Had a thorough knowledge of lease terms, rental rates, apartment sizes, amenities, specifications, current market conditions and community policies in order to support the completion of lease forms and agreements. I aided in the collection of rents and deposits, and lease renewals for the same.
Helped ensure the model town homes and target apartments were ready for show, as well as the curb appeal of the property. I coordinated the club house amenity scheduling, and policy enforcement of the property. Managed night staff and trained them on the requisite requirements.
