James Tilghman is a design leader with 25 years of experience in crafting culturally significant buildings and environments that deeply engage the aspirations and goals of his many clients in both the public and private sectors. As an architect in the public realm, most recently as a GSA Design Excellence Lead Designer, Jamie has successfully led projects in the role of Design Principal for NASA Langley and the Social Security Administration Baltimore Metro West- both projects that embody the cultural identity of those institutions as Federal Agencies in the public realm. As a passionate advocate for the transformative power of design, his leadership extends to identifying and optimizing all of the elements that define a successful architectural practice in our time.

Lead Designer for Army National Guard Readiness Center at Arlington Hall, Arlington VA, complete July 2011- Principal level Leadership role in all aspects of visioning, mentoring, defining and implementing programs and processes to successfully leverage talent recruitment, design excellence and branding in the DC Regional Market. From February 2007 to February 2012 (5 years 1 month) Director of Design @ Principal Level leadership role for all design projects, with a focus on the Healthcare, Research, Academic/Applied Science and Higher Education markets including identification of target markets and clients, definition and promotion of office design culture leading to numerous Chapter level AIA Awards, including AIA Design Award recognition and publication of The Musculoskeletal Institute (Medical Arts Research Building) at the University of Connecticut Farmington Campus.
