I am a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono where I received a BS degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a focus in Dietetics. With a focused background in nutrition, health, and wellness, it is my goal to increase public knowledge of healthy living and human development.
Extension Agent, Family and Consumer Sciences @ I provide Health and Human Development, Food Safety and Nutrition, and Job Skill Development education to the communities of the city of Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, and Greene counties. From August 2013 to Present (2 years 2 months) Albemarle County OfficeDietary Director @ As a Dietary Director I was in charge of the kitchen in a 112 bed skilled nursing facility supervising 14 employees. I provided specialized diets to a variety of residents with different healthcare needs. I worked closely with doctors, registered dietitians, nurses, and families to provide care and accomodate each patient's individual needs. From January 2012 to August 2013 (1 year 8 months) Youth Hockey Instructor @ I supervised week long hockey academies in different cities each week all along the east coast, dealing with children aged 6-16. Throughout each camp we would work on team building activities, off-ice training/nutritional education, and on-ice skill training. From June 2011 to September 2011 (4 months) Physical Activity and Nutrition Consultant @ I prepared recipes and served healthy meals to residents of Old Town Community Housing. Provided numerous educational trainings on healthy meal planning, meal preparation, kitchen safety, and food budgeting to low-income families and elderly population in the Old Town Public Housing Community.
