The second component of my project employed a statistical time series model, called ARIMA, to discover when an event was being overlogged or underlogged. The ARIMA model facilitates finding anomalies in the user engagement data.
📖 Summary
I am interested in connecting with companies for future full time and internship opportunities. My interests lie in writing software for machine learning and data mining.Software Engineering Intern @ I am working with the OneDrive / SharePoint team to help analyze SharePoint's user engagement data. The data consists of hundreds of terabytes of SharePoint server logs. The first component of my project involved creating a dashboard displaying increasing event counts in the data. Furthermore, I performed nontrivial queries to find an event's history in the dataset. The second component of my project employed a statistical time series model, called ARIMA, to discover when an event was being overlogged or underlogged. The ARIMA model facilitates finding anomalies in the user engagement data. From May 2015 to August 2015 (4 months) Undergraduate Research Assistant (Data mining research group) @ I am working on helping to build new high dimensional regression and classification techniques for genomic data. My project is funded under the KnowEnG grant. We are currently focusing on pattern mining techniques to improve classification and regression accuracy. These pattern mining techniques will allow us to identify patterns in the data that have semantic meaning. From March 2015 to May 2015 (3 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaUndergraduate Research Assistant (Institute of Genomic Biology) @ The objective of my project is to build a predictive model for understanding the percent of a given cancer cell line that is killed by a chemotherapeutic drug. Using regression models, we are able to find IC 50 values of drugs - the concentration of a drug needed to kill 50% of a drug's cell line. We are extending our predictive models to calculate general IC values. The end goal of this project is to use this research for cancer drug repurposing. We want to cure a given type of cancer using different corresponding cancer drugs, on the basis that the drug to be used still targets the driver genes of the cancer. From February 2015 to May 2015 (4 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaUndergraduate Research Assistant @ I am a researcher for the the NIH funded KnowEnG project. More details can be found here: http://csl.illinois.edu/news/university-illinois-collaborates-mayo-clinic-revolutionize-genomic-data-analysis I gathered data to be used in the KnowEnG system, as well as built the framework for which the data can be correctly versioned with. From October 2014 to May 2015 (8 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaData Structures Teaching Assistant @ Helped run a course of 600 students. I taught a discussion section of 20 students, helping students understand the basics of data structures, algorithm design, and linux tools. I have taught this course for two semesters. From August 2014 to May 2015 (10 months) Software Engineering Intern @ My team helped develop an API to interface R with C#, as well as share predictive models across hospitals through PMML. I also worked on a separate project that involved benchmarking SAP SE's predictive modeling software by training predictive models against Epic's diabetes datasets. From May 2014 to August 2014 (4 months) Discrete Mathematics Teaching Assistant @ I teach the fundamentals of discrete mathematics and algorithm analysis. I am involved in hosting a recitation per week consisting of 40 students, and I also have the privilege of being able to host the exam review sessions. I have also created extra course material that extended the contents of the current textbook. I taught this course for five semesters. From August 2012 to May 2014 (1 year 10 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaENG 100 Engineering Learning Assistant @ I led a class of 25 computer science freshman to teach the fundamental concepts of engineering as well as fundamentals of web programming. From April 2013 to December 2013 (9 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaProject Manager and Applications Developer @ Led my team to creating a cross-platform mobile app for the United Way of Champaign County. The app, United Way Pre-K App, will be available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store by the end of August. It aims to help parents prepare their children for kindergarten. From May 2013 to August 2013 (4 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaCalculus Tutor of the Department of Mathematics @ Involved with tutoring students during office hours. From August 2012 to September 2012 (2 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaProgrammer Consultant for Orpheum Children's Museum @ Integrated Microsoft Kinect APIs in Visual C# to help create an interactive, educational game for the Champaign City Children's Museum. The project was released in August as an exhibit for young children (5-12) to experience. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Urbana-Champaign, Illinois AreaMaster's degree, Computer Science @ University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign From 2015 to 2016 Bachelor's degree, Computer Science, Mathematics (Dual Degree) @ University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign From 2011 to 2016 Henry Lin is skilled in: Python, Artificial Neural Networks, Cython, C++, Git, Machine Learning, Java, Computer Vision, LaTeX, Web Development, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Matlab, Leadership, Software Engineering
