From March 2008 to September 2013 (5 years 7 months) Consultant and Part-time Bookkeeper @ • Leveraged my experience at Summerhill Pyramid Winery to make recommendations to the General Manager and clean up the bookkeeping for River's Bend • Brought the monthly bookkeeping up to date after a year had lapsed by preparing bank reconciliations, accounts receivable reconciliations, inventory and CRA Excise Tax reporting • Met with CRA Excise Tax auditors and assisted with the process of getting reporting back on track and to an audit standard for the winery • Provided recommendations on how to improve procedures on cash handling, closing out the point of sale terminal, how to handle wine sampling and gift certificates • Assisted with financial analysis that looked at various cost centres for the winery such as the vineyard, wineshop and operations to determine profitable business actions versus unprofitable practices • Helped with the transition to a new point of sale and accounting system after the previous system was stolen and computer records lost.
