The platform provides integrated capabilities enabling teams to create websites, revenue-generating online directories for exhibitors, products, event attendees and portals allowing customers to obtain sales leads and arrange meetings. Additionally I introduced the use of social media techniques for all events and the global rollout of an internal social network to enable improved collaboration across the group. Sales and Marketing Effectiveness: Working in a partnership wth the CSO, I led a programme to design and rollout improved processes across the group, centred on leading platforms including, together with significant integration with several back office systems covering sales order processing, event registration and ticketing. Data / Finance: I led the selection, design and rollout of a new platform used by all finance teams. which facilitated the introduction of a standard Chart of Accounts, to provide improved Data insights across all areas of the group's sales, marketing and financial operations IT Operations / Information Security: Overhaul of global infrastructure and employee IT, including mobile devices, and implemented 24 x 7 global support capability plus implementation a global information security function. From October 2006 to July 2012 (5 years 10 months) CIO @ In July 2004 I joined Beazley as their first CIO. My role was to improve Beazley’s IT capabilities to support ambitious growth plans, following the acquisition of a US insurance company. Achievements included: - Definition of a new technology strategy to support International expansion - Development of Global insurance e-trading and claims platform - Development of new reporting and analytics tools for business teams - Selection and implementation of new Finance platform - Significant involvement in Lloyd’s market IT reform including chairing G6 underwriter group - Refresh of the group's infrastructure including in London and across the USA From July 2004 to September 2006 (2 years 3 months) London, United KingdomGlobal Head of IT Platforms and Development @ In April 2003 I joined Henderson as Head of IT Platforms & Development, reporting to the CIO, in order to rebuild the IT delivery capability and “rescue” business relationships. I led the replacement of all processes and systems including Portfolio Modelling, Fund Management and Multimedia systems for client and global meetings. I then led the creation of GAM’s first websites. As a result, in 1997, I was given responsibility for Digital across the group. This included overseeing the launch and ongoing development of GAM’s industry leading online services, including its global mutual fund website and its secure website offering access to real-time portfolios for private clients. In addition, during my career at GAM I was responsible for providing advice and support on all areas of technology to the Chairman and owner, Gilbert de Botton. This included briefing the chairman on the entire scope of the group's technology and overseeing significant technical projects including major infrastructure and audio visual projects in family homes and offices internationally.
