I’m a fresh graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer from the University of Toledo. I have had some hands-on experiences through the coursework at college. I have acquainted myself with a variety of skills that would allow me to blend with your company. My internships have also provided me with hands-on experience in the civil engineering/construction field.
Project Engineer @ From July 2015 to Present (4 months) San Francisco Bay AreaField Engineer @ My current job assignment is on a county hospital campus. The building being worked on is a 3 story hospital support center.My task is managing the of over 5,000 items. In managing this list I coordinate with the hospital staff and about 25 subcontractors. This position is currently teaching me how to comply with the special rules and regulations of health care facilities. From November 2014 to July 2015 (9 months) San Francisco Bay AreaEstimator @ This position was my first full time work experience. During this period, refined my effectiveness with computer programs such as isqft, on screen take off and Auto CAD. Learned a great deal about developing relationships with subcontractors for the bids that were being performed. I took ownership of tabs on bids in both the public and private sector with projects ranging from $10 million to $150 million. With projects of varying scopes, I was able to learn how to efficiently navigate through construction documents. From August 2014 to November 2014 (4 months) Phoenix, Arizona AreaStudent Supervisor @ I started this job as a student caller and worked my way up to student supervisor during the last year of employment here. As a student supervisor I managed 15 student per calling shift. During the management process, I set calls for students to call alumni donors to the University. On any given night, we raised from $0 to $6000 for student scholarship and organizations From August 2009 to August 2014 (5 years 1 month) Toledo, Ohio AreaField Engineer Intern @ As a field engineer intern, I got the opportunity to at one of the world's largest computer semiconductor company. This job was highly reliant upon building information modeling(BIM). By the end of this internship experience, I was became comfortable navigating through BIM. I also gained experience on how to manage 40+ subcontractors in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components of a building. From May 2013 to August 2013 (4 months) Phoenix, Arizona AreaField Engineer and Office Engineer Intern @ This internship gave me the opportunity to be on a job site full time. During this time, I worked as field engineer and office engineer at a $300 million government land port of entry site. As a field engineer, I efficiently learned how to set up both the total station and auto level, positively communicate with 20+ subcontractors, and navigate through computer software ( Auto CAD and Revit ). As a office engineer, I assisted the project engineer with cost control, labor recap, scheduling, and construction billing. I also gained knowledge on the components and workings of Primavera 6. From May 2012 to August 2012 (4 months) Nogales,AZTeaching Assistant @ This position allowed me to get more involved with the civil engineering department in college. I worked closely with the professor instructing a civil engineering orientation course. My primary job was to help incoming freshman explore the possible career paths and various fields of civil engineering. I also graded assignments and served as a mentor to these students. From August 2011 to May 2012 (10 months) Toledo, Ohio AreaResident Advisor @ This position helped mold me as a leader. As a resident advisor, I was responsible for 40 student on my floor. Other than serving as an advocate for the college, I coordinated educational programs ( study tips, tips for surviving college etc.), assisted with roommate concerns, and reinforced University policies. From August 2010 to January 2012 (1 year 6 months) Toledo, Ohio AreaConstruction Estimator and Field Engineering Intern @ During my 1st internship experience, I got exposure to the actual construction process and pre - construction process. In construction estimating part I learned how the bidding process works and how to communicate with subcontractors. During the course of this internship, I participated in government bids ranging from transportation engineering to military bases.
